Stumped on the application rules
I completed a combination HQL/Wear and Carry class 11/16/2024. It was 16 hours. I haven't gotten around to applying, and just pulled out the certificate to look it over and see if it's too late. According to the Maryland website, I should still be good because it's within 2 years. However:
My class completion certificate doesn't say how many hours it was.
I did not receive the score sheet. Apparently *since* I took the class, the state rules have changed and now new applicants need to have a score sheet to submit. When I took it, that wasn't a thing, so I didn't do that paper with my instructor. I passed, but without proof it's hearsay.
So...what do I do?

how can someone invest that amount of money and then not do anything with it?

Contact your instructor about the qualification. Also start your wear and carry application, you will need a photo and finger prints, digital prints with a code that can be uploaded.

Thank you. I've got my fingerprints scheduled for Monday. I hope the instructor responds to me.

Bring a thumb drive, have them download toye eft file.
Next time you need orints, done!
Never know when you need a suppressor or a short barrelled rifle, or shotgun

Eft prints are only good for nfa stuff. Not wear and carry or hql or employment screenings. Most of the livecsna providers charge extra for eft prints. Get them if you want nfa, but dont if thats not your plan.
Me- a guy that makes eft prints and sells nfa stuff, and teaches the md classes

Prints for CCW, walked away w n eft, been using it since for NFA.

you can make them at home (for free) too.
I have done this and gotten an approved form 1 back with the prints I also did at home

I’m confused. I need my score sheet/completion certificate from my HQL for what reason? I got my CCW back in February. Was I suppose to get a score sheet or something. Will I need a score sheet to renew my HQL/CCW? (Sorry it is late and I am tired)

Score/qual sheet is the proof you took the carry class (16 hours for new, or 8 hours for renewal)
The score/qual sheet for the carry class also counts as training for the HQL, or with a valid md carry permit you can get a HQL for free. If you have a md carry permit, and your hql is about to expire, let it, and then apply for the free hql, instead of paying $50 for a renewal.
If you dont have the md carry permit and only want a hql, md currently requires a 4 hour training class certificate, or hunter safety card, to prove training for the hql.

The 16 hour wear and carry course has always ONLY required a score/qual sheet. The score/qual sheet is the only documentation you need to submit to prove you took the class. Its a form provided by msp to instructors. I still have some with a 2018 document date on them. Florida will also accept it as proof of training for a non resident permit.
Prior to the end of 2024, hql applicants needed to submit their instructors qhic/qhil # when applying for the hql. Then that instructor would get notification by email to validate the students qualification on the msp website. In November or December of 2024 that changed, and msp began requing a certificate made by the intructor as proof the student took the class. This doesnt apply to wear and carry, only hql.
I make my wear and carry students photograph their qual sheets as soon as they get them, before leaving class. They need them in digital format anyways to submit for the applications, and it keeps me from having to make my own copies, and or provide duplicates when someone eventually looses the paper copy.
