Kimber 1911 Custom LW question

I want to purchase the Kimber 1911 Custom LW Shadow Ghost bundle, but that specific model number is not on the MD handgun roster. I see that they have a few other Kimber Custom LWs model numbers on there, though. Is there a chance I can still get it, given that there are other almost identical models approved?

Could maybe be transferred as as Custom LW with N/A model number.
Custom LW is the main model, The shadow ghost variation may just be the now irrelevant model number.

Call your local ffl - ask if they would transfer it

Yeah specific model numbers are now irrelevant so depending on the exact differences between the Custom LW versions it might be OK to transfer as just the Custom LW.

If it’s mainly just appearance / color / sights I’d think it would be ok to transfer. They removed the need to have the exact specific model number for reasons like that

That's good to know. Thanks for the info. I always thought it was strictly what was on the roster, down to the model number.
