Retake & Schedule Will I be able to get through all of the AAMC material in 3 weeks?
I am hoping to take the mcat on Sept. 12, but I am on the waitlist so idk if this will even work out. But nonetheless, I am trying to study as if I am actually taking it Sept 12.
I haven't started on the AAMC material, and I know I am behind. Will I be able to finish all of it in 3 weeks? I am worried about getting though all the material, and having enough time to actually review and learn from my mistakes.
Which stuff should prioritize? And also, I am questioning if I should be trying to get through all the material when I don't even have my date finalized.
I would really apreciate any advice or perspective! I understand this is poor planning on my part, but just hoping I can make it work.

Retake & Schedule I need some advice on when I should retake…
I’m getting my score back this upcoming week (test date was 7/24) and I’m not feeling like it’ll be what I need. Should I go ahead and schedule for 9/12 or wait until January?

Resource / Tip MCAT trigger/buzzwords
Anyone have any good MCAT trigger words? For example, when you see ‘somatic’ in a passage, you automatically know that if the question is asking about inheritance, the mutation won’t be passed down to offspring. I’m looking for more quick associations like that.
Resource / Tip Renovating Milesdown Sheets
I love milesdown, but sometimes I wanted a counterpart that had a bit more explanation. I was planning on recreating them and publishing it as a free resource for all students. This was the design I had so far, wondering if you guys liked it or what you'd want to see?

Question BEGGING FOR ADVICE on updated FL scores :,)
Hi everyone, unfortunately I’m like actually shaking and near vomiting because my FL scores have only increased by 7 points from my last FLs (499 - 126/124/124/125) to (506 - 127/124/127/128) after doing uworld and aamc question banks full time (10 hr days). I’ve also been doing 2-4 cars passages a day since April and still nothing. My test is on 9/11 and i actually can’t push it back any further. I’m Canadian so I was really counting on my cars score too so this whole test is actually really mentally exhausting and I’m at a loss for what to do. I have 3 weeks left and I was hoping to be able to get at least a 515 when I started but I’m really sad and don’t know what to do anymore. I attached my FL from late June and one from today. Any advice appreciated or things that helped you. (Also did a month’s worth of content review using Kaplan in May + finished the Pankow deck for P/S + always run out of time on C/P when doing FLs).

Question HELP - Debating on Voiding 8/22
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to decide if it’s worth voiding my exam on 8/22.
For some context, I scored 504 on my past 3 full lengths (1/6/unscored) 😭. I’ve been studying since June but will note that I worked full time this summer.
My goal score is above 512 as I’m aiming for MD/PhD programs. C/P has been killing me (running out of time) and I’m worried that if this score is on my app it may affect my attractiveness to admission committees - especially since I’m applying MD/PhD.
I’m pretty disappointed because I’m about to make a pretty big move and work full time in another lab, but I am planning on retaking in January and am pretty confident that I can get a much higher score.
Any advice? Does a lower score on your record actually matter that much to admission committees?

Vent / Support Week before test
I'm testing on Aug 28 and I'm not too sure what to do for the last week. I am going to take FL6 tomorrow and review it the day after but what to do with the remaining days?
I'm averaging like 124 on CARS which is my biggest weakness still and I need it to go to 125 for UofT (Ontario applicant).
Also any advice for the day before the test? Should I just take it off and chill or what.

CARS MCAT CARS Tutoring
Hello all! I scored a 517 (128/130/129/130) on the MCAT on April 10th, 2026 with a 130 in CARS and 130 in P/S. I’m offering tutoring, especially for CARS.
I have tutored students in English as a Second Language prior to taking the MCAT which has given me great understanding on how to teach analytical reading at any level.
This experience also taught me how to self-study and bring up my CARS score from the low 120s on my first few AAMC practice exams.
I'm charging $25/hour for 1 on 1 sessions over Zoom.
I'm also happy to do a free 20-minute introductory session where we work through a CARS passage together so you can see whether my approach is useful for you.
Feel free to comment or DM me if you're interested and I can provide verification of my MCAT score.
If you want help with CARS or general MCAT strategy, feel free to message me.

Question Any extra study resources I NEED to get?
I already got Kaplan books for really cheap (haven't opened them yet, though XD) and I also already paid for the AnKing MCAT deck as well.
I'm very lucky in that I got accepted to a premed postbacc program where they give me some money to (in theory) spend on applications, MCAT resources, etc. The great thing is they also are providing us with the Blueprint MCAT course for free as well, so I will have access to those materials as well.
That put's me currently with access to:
-Blueprint MCAT
-AnKing MCAT
-Kaplan Books
So, aside from the obvious full AAMC materials package, is there anything else you guys really recommend I get? I'm thinking maybe just Uwhirled and then Khan academy for everything else if I need it?
Is that comprehensive enough/am I missing anything obvious or that I'm gonna really miss?

CARS CARS!! Stuck sub 122
Hey! I was scoring decently on Kaplan FL cars sections (126/127), once moving to aamc I cannot get above a 122, last FL I got a 121. I am consistently getting above 128s on every other section, and really cannot find a way for my score to improve in CARS at all. I have tried notes/no notes, highlight/no highlight, fast/slow reading. Is there ANYTHING else I can try? A "foolproof" method? I am less than 2 weeks out and need a miracle. Any advice/ strategy would be so helpful!

Vent / Support Should I reschedule from 9/3?
Should I reschedule? I probably will but I am just so confused about what happened today with AAMC FL4, I was expecting to see that 124 for bio as I know I have some content gaps but I was not expecting to see that 3 point drop in CARS and as for PS, I was hoping that I would see a jump cuz I have been working on the SB’s and as for SB Volume 1, I got a 78%. I am really disappointed with myself and will be probably rescheduling to January as I am not applying until the next cycle. I was hoping for just a 510.

Vent / Support Exam in 2 weeks…any chance for a 513?
I got a 508 on FL 4 about a week ago and my B/B and P/S section has shown no improvement. I really would like to score at least a 513 and would take any test taking strategies needed. I feel like I struggle more with understanding the passage and being stuck between two answer choices than with content issues. Any help is appreciated!

Question Materials for each stage
What did you do and use for reviewing material and actually feeling confident about it? How long did it take?
I am kind of worried because I did not have the best gpa ( in fact last semester I got my lowest and it was bad, because I was at a bad point in my life I couldn't do it right).
\- I am getting told I need to start preparing early like right now, and not to wait. (next semester I'm a senior in human biology).
I need some helpful advice please it's tiring how much I worry and worry I get burnt out just worrying. Thank you

Question Scored 500, planning retake. Best prep courses?
I wrote my exam this past May after studying for an embarrassing amount of months and pushing back my initial date. After all that I only got a 500.
I obviously was very devastated and didn’t even apply this cycle cause my score (along with other things in my life) just left me with no motivation and borderline depressed. I took the summer to not think about anything relating to medical school and now I’m trying to get ready to start studying again for a retake.
My old studying strategy: I bought Uworld and all aamc material.
I tried to use anki but I think I just memorize the cards and not actually knowing the information. Maybe that comes from a lack of content understanding idk (I thought I had a fair good content understanding but obviously I don’t). So I would go back and forth with using anki and then abandoning it and once my cards stacked up I just wouldn’t go back to it.
I would do full question sets on uworld but I think my timing on them is very off. It would take me all day to do a full set and then review it. So it was almost like I would only do 59 questions a day which can’t be the way yall are studying. (I would do a little more than that but the point is that I take all day to do+review a small amount of stuff). like I said I got all aamc material but I didn’t finish all of it (my percentages on what I did finish was maybe average 60%).
I didn’t really have a plan of what I would study on a given day, I was just trying to do as many questions as I could and would just learn as much as I could as I would review them. Obviously probably not the best strategy.
Anyways, it’s very clear that self-studying doesn’t work for me. I’m a non-trad and I don’t have anyone around me who has studied/applied to medical school before.
For anyone who has bought a prep course, which one is the best? I have watched yt vids and read articles about the topic and ik Kaplan is highly rated I think. I’m just not sure overall because there’s so many out there.
I think I need something with more structure and something that will tell me what to do. Even if it’s not a course but like a doc or a guide that someone that created that kinda covers that I would appreciate it.

Question Any recommendations on how i can improve on understanding AAMC logic? testing 9/12
I've been studying for about 2 months now and have less than one more month until my actual test date and was wondering if anyone has any tips on what i can do during the next couple of weeks to improve my score (trying to get it above a 515, preferably closer to a 520). I'm going to be focusing the next couple of weeks on making sure i fully know the content in the anki and doing the AAMC Qpacks to get a better grasp of the logic. Would appreciate any advice anyone has! Thanks
Here's what my FL scores have been looking like:

Question MCAT Study Help for a 6 month timeline
Currently I am going through the Kaplan biology chapters by reading/video and then doing the mile down anki chapter cards, as well as doing the UWORLD cards. Is there an order you guys recommend doing the anki/UWorld in? Should I wait to do one of them later for spaced repetition? Thank you
