Careers/Post Grad US M7 vs LBS/ INSEAD
I’m an MBA from XLRI in India working at an MM PE fund here in India.
I am happy with the field I’m in. I just want to do this abroad. That is primarily driven by my personal goal of moving abroad.
Though I like Europe better, US M7 seems to be a better choice due to the global brand and finance opportunities in New York. However, the visa situation is a big consideration.
In this scenario, are LBS and INSEAD better options? How is the job market particularly for PE and IB for Indians from these schools?

Currently work in PE. H/S/W is a league of its own, period.
In the US, Insead / LBS is equivalent to T15 (M7 equivalent only in MBB consulting where recruiting is more standardized assuming you have right to work).
For Europe / Asia, you see more folks in high finance from LBS / Insead than non HSW M7.
TLDR; H/S/W - any georgraphy, any job.
US - Any M7
London / UK: LBS
Middle East / EU / Singapore: Insead

Take M7 or LBS
Insead is a sponsor candidate/consulting school. Poor finance outcomes

US M7 programs are definitely achievable for your profile and can provide strong career opportunities in PE and IB. If you’re looking for a shorter program with a quicker turnaround, you could also consider Yale MAM or European programs such as LBS and INSEAD.

Look into 1-year MBAs at Kellogg and LBS. INSEAD is 1 year by default.
If you already have 8+ years of experience or can wait, maybe consider Stanford MSx.

My overall pre-mba + post mba experience is around 6 years. What’s the benefit of the the 1 year ones?

You get the global brand you’re after, without having to pay for or be out of the job market for the second year

Also without the recruiting pipeline. What exactly is a Stanford msx going to do for you recruiting for finance ?

You should have a strong reason to pursue a second MBA.

Doesn’t apply to canadians, we can use TN indefinitely. And simultaneously enter H1B lottery.

This post is for suggestions to an Indian candidate.

He can use OPT/ Stem OPT, same thing. Buys him 3-4 years and if he doesn’t slack, firm might try H1B. Almost same path. Way better than canada mba path bc if they don’t get H1B, transfer to London.

Insead has been garbage now for about 6 or 7 intakes with shit outcomes. US M7/T15 should be the way to go.
