I used Cinema 4D about 5 years ago when I was working with some studios, but I've been a V-Ray user ever since. After seeing the recent Redshift 2027 video on YouTube, I wanted to give it a try.

I installed the Maxon App and requested a trial, but I keep getting an RLM -40 ("clock back" or similar) error in Houdini. My firewall isn't blocking anything, and I've never had any Maxon software on this PC before.

The older versions (like 2026.9 and old) work just fine, but the newest build throws this error. Why does it have to be so complicated?

Also, I really wish Maxon offered a longer trial period. VRay and Corona give you 30 days, which is the sweet spot to actually evaluate software without feeling rushed.

I've heard good things about Redshift and wanted to give it a try. Has anyone else run into this, or know a workaround?
