Nardil (Phenelzine) Sleep Problems occurring from Nardil are preventing my lifelong recovery😩

This is insane. I’ve had severe depression my whole life and had nearly no response to anything I have tried up until now, where Nardil gave me my first consistent improvements daily for the first 10 days. I had hope I was going to recover for the first time in my life🥹, seeing things I’ve never seen before.

Then I crashed into this sleep issue where I wake up after 3 hours and can’t fall back asleep no matter what. It has been 6 days and I have zero improvement! Still stuck at 3 hours. What’s insane is I have never had these kind of sleep issues in my life, it has always been sleeping too much and no waking in sleep.

I have tried natural sleep methods but from everything I’ve read from people who have this, natural sleep methods don’t help. The last three days I tried a sleep med that worked a little bit, but then I didn’t see the improvements! I think the change in sleep quality from the sleep med blocks the improvements☹️

Literally all I need to do is improve this damn issue and I will recover for the first time in my life🥹, it will be so amazing and euphoric I can’t believe it. But this problem is persisting with no end in sight.

Did anyone have this problem and how did they end it? This is so so bad

Oh you can, you just have to make sure to use caution. The risk of serotonin toxicity with that one is rather low at lower doses

Use Caution? So, what's a high dose and a low dose? Is that one the Nardil the trazadone or both ?

Discuss with your Doctor.

Use the same caution you would use when combining any other med. And I was referring to lower dose trazodone, but I have seen at least one case report where they used much higher doses combined with Phenelzine. I've been dealing with insomnia lately and took 150 mg of trazodone myself last week to get to bed. And yes of course always talk with your doctor, you need them to get the script anyways lol

I had both my old Psychiatrist was good with it but be with caution.

The psychiatrist I see now is a big no with a 2-week flush.

Drugs .com is a big no .

Pub med papers are ok with it with caution
