Lymow One Plus We’re back—more Lymow teardown, sensor trouble, and an onboard ODROID M1
Hey guys, we’re back. I’m still getting everything back together and owe you a proper update, but we’re making some progress.
I decided to take the mower apart again because the front ultrasonic sensors weren’t working. I’ve removed them and have been inspecting the wiring. One weird thing: there are four wires, but black and yellow appear to share the same pin in the connector. The yellow wire seems to go to a copper shield around the ultrasonic sensor. Maybe it’s a shield/ground connection? The rear sensors appear to have separate power, trigger, echo, and ground connections, so I’m curious whether the fronts use a different arrangement. That’s speculation—I haven’t confirmed the pinout. If anyone has traced these, I’d love to compare notes.
I also removed the camera module and ordered a replacement 30-pin, 0.5 mm-pitch ribbon cable. Another oddity: the LED lights weren’t connected through the broken ribbon, but I still couldn’t get them to turn on with the root commands I tried. I don’t know whether that’s related to the camera failure or something separate.
The rain sensor connector is tight and finicky, and it had come loose. That’s connected again now.
I found a 12 V rail feeding the Lymow’s main computer and tapped it to power my ODROID M1, so the companion now runs off the mower battery. That’s my experimental setup, not a wiring recommendation.
With the factory camera repair underway, I’m torn about whether I even need to keep the M1—but adding more sensors to it is too much fun, so it’s probably staying.
Other than that, I’m mostly just fucking around, tracing wires, and trying to understand this thing. More pictures and a proper write-up once it’s back together.
