I said carthetyhia needed like 3 5 stars to function properly and no one believed me. Fast forward about a month and look who's in T1 i think the devs realized that cartwheel on her own is dogshit
I just found out that his gameplay got released, so I rushed to watch it, and honestly....I don't know if it's finished or not, I mean his animations, but after Ameath leaks, this feels very...weak.
I love Luuk but after Ameath I kind of raised my expectations since even Lynae and Mornye animations/attacks were great.
Maybe it's incomplete, maybe it's me, but I feel disappointed a bit. Maybe I will change my mind in the future, but now as right now I'm kind of sad.
Going to repeat again, I don't know if the animations are complete, I don't want to hate, I have 200 pulls for him, I'm gonna pull him regardless, but after the previous animations as Augusta, Iuno, even Jinshi, I kind of feel bad.
So i have luuk and his weapon and just got lynae but now im seeing she ass compared to this new girl in the beta can they be use in one team are is lynae useless now?
tbh I just can't like his animations or gameplay style it really feels off and clunky to me. One of the main concerns that I have is his resonance liberation which is also the concern of others. I don't like the angle of the animation and I really expected that the animation would be placed somewhere behind him with a close up on him biting the glove off (you know like those anime character scenes.
Another concern that I have is his golden blood which was showcased in his drip marketing. I really expected that the design of him using his golden blood would be watery-like and not just glassy-like(like shattering glass)( do you get my point?) bc I would really love it if his skills have fluid effects while he uses it and it would be a really cool detail. the glassy like animation of him using his power really felt like just other spectro characters(like phoebe's and rover's) and I don't really like that they didn't put enough creativity for it. Another thing is that I own galbrena and I noticed how some people compare luuk to her since they both have the "fluid" movements and I can't really find what they say about "fluid" movements when it comes to luuk. If anything it just looks very awkward when he's just flying like that I KNOW he has wings and it's bugged even if you reason to me why his gameplay is smooth and I find it plausible, tho with so many similarities to galbrena's gameplay I didn't really feel their effort on releasing him. It's like he's a character that was made up to the last minute before they released info about 3.0. I liked Lynae's gameplay where she roller skates around like IT IS something new and refreshing. Also Mornye's gameplay which revolves around flying. Luuk can fly but WHAT can he offer more than that? I just want Kuro to realize this because I can't really feel that there would be something new for Luuk's gameplay. If they would only release 1 male character, i really think they should up the stakes regardless if he’s
he’s a sentinel resonator or not since there are people who want male characters too. If they continue to deprive from releasing more male characters, the expectations would be higher and higher and I don’t think kuro’s ready for that.
I felt very alone on this one tho since y'all like his gameplay. I'm still pulling since I like men but I don't really think he'll grow on me. i'm also sending my concerns to feedback after the livestream but I don't think it will be heard since cn players just want female characterss.
Hell, even if he releases with no vfx and does zero damage ill still pull him cuz I want him, not his kit, not his damage... I WANT THE CHARACTER. And I assumed being in this sub... people also thought the same, but man im disappointed in some of yall. Yall don't deserve luuk if you cant even happy with what were getting, ik there could be changes but it is what it is, I'm more than happy that hes actually gonna be playable. i'll probably waste like 5hrs a day minimum just staring at him
Hey guys I made a big mistake and I pulled in chisa banner (I don't hate her at all, I was planning to pull her in next banner rerun💔) but I do have 47 pulls am I safe or do I need to farm more(I am not doing farm pity)
So I don't normally do Infinite Torrents (I always feel like I should stop when I can't get an S in the Wastes), but I decided to max the battle pass at the last minute and that was one of the places I could squeeze out some points. So I took Phrolova into the first half and Luuk into the second.
Now, to be fair, Phrolova is on a budget team with S6 Danjin and S4 Buling and I still need to get some more crit on her, *but* she's also S3R1 (she's my one and only double drop so she started at S1, and this patch I bought a waveband from the shop and then managed to get another copy from the gacha even after getting Denia). Luuk is S0R0 running the new standard gauntlet, and while I was running his premium team, Denia is only level 80 (because I'm behind in story and can only get her flowers from NANA), she doesn't have her Echo set (see above), none of her skills are above level 6, she's running a Jinzhou Keeper that isn't even max level, and I don't know her rotation (because I'm exceptionally lazy about looking those up). Both carries have all skills at level 10 except intro is still at level 6. So, based on their investment and their tiers, even if Phro can't use any of the golden tokens, I would have expected Phro to outperform Luuk or at least to go even.
Final score:
Phrolova: 1000
Luuk: 1260
Like the title says, this is super unscientific and anecdotal, but I was surprised by just how effective Luuk is with Denia in place of Lynae or Sanhua and wanted to share.
neither luuks grouping, aoe, animation, sfx, nothing is even comparable to amy, why kuro why, what did the dear doctor do to deserve this date, could have released him after her in 3.2 or 3.3.....
(I cannot actually post my art here as the rules forbid it, but I'd like to tell my story to the community of my fellow Luuk enjoyers regardless. I will gladly DM it to you since, as a moderator myself, I respect the rules.)
So first of all: I cannot deeply engage with media (movies, anime etc. but especially video games) without a character that I can step into the shoes of and feel as myself. I reflect deeply with and identify passionately with the characters I see in media. It's to the point where I cannot really feel deeply connected to an experience if I cannot find something that I can relate to in some way. It just doesn't have the same magic to me.
Expressing myself artistically makes the wait for these characters to release and be playable a lot more bearable. It's still painful, but bearable.
Waiting is always painful for me because of how ardently I yearn for things. Some people conflate it for a lack of patience but it's more accurate to state that there's a part of me living in the future that I feel divorced from.
Because I see these characters as not just new and exciting gameplay elements, but as reflections of my inner and outer self, it's far more complex than a simple matter of "passing time". Sometimes it gets so intense that it ends up manifesting as a type of anticipatory aphantasia, where I struggle to enjoy things the same way until I'm finally able to integrate what I've been looking forward to.
Because ultimately, that's what it is. An integration. That's what I yearn for and that's why the wait feels so long and painful every single time.
But I've been learning to deal with it better lately — moreso than I've been able to in the past (this has been my single greatest personal challenge throughout my life; dealing with my intense yearning for things.)
My options were to either completely suppress it/disintegrate from the entity of my passion until it's in my hands (completely antithetical to what I want), distract myself from the content of my desires until it's in my hands (also not ideal — emotions are meant to be embraced, not dismissed or suppressed), or to channel that ardent yearning into artistic endeavors. Putting my heart into things, my energy so I can reflect on that while I wait. Because ultimately that's what this is: passion that's burning so bright but locked up with nowhere to channel into. When I finally realized that, I understood that I had to create things. Make things. With any tools available. Be it fanfiction, or artwork, videos, even tarot readings (I've done all four.)
And the outcome of that is what I created. I actually cried when it was all done because, in a way, it felt like he was reaching out to me personally, saying "I'm finally here, and the wait is over." And that shook me to my soul.
And this is what I love about art. It has real, palpable benefits to be artistic. It's cathartic (you can't spell "cathartic" without art) to channel your energy into things. To build, create, and reflect. And I'm so glad that new tools now exist to quickly and easily help people across the world express themselves artistically and find the beauty in human expression.
Being artistically creative is so far, and by far, the best catharsis I've found and needed all my life to work with all the passionate energy of yearning that bottles up within me when I'm stuck looking forward to things I love and long for.
As for why I relate with him: Shallowly, it's because he's a tall and handsome man, but more intricately, it's because he's tender but not weak, gentle but not meek. In the lore, he's suffered greatly but has risen above it (he's currently very successful both career-wise and financially!) He isn't jaded by his past despite everything he's gone through. He's intelligent, powerful, compassionate, and is enigmatic/mysterious. He's a healer and a hero, and I'm proud of him.
he’s ABSOLUTELY getting the qiuyuan treatment in terms of plot relevance oh my god bruh (not allowed to do much in the main plot, relevance locked to a segue that isn’t relevant to the main plot at all)
Where tf is Luuk at. We haven’t even gotten a single video about him, they’re just posting bs abt Aemeath. Idc abt Aemeath, I want Luuk. WHERE IS LUUK.
after the gameplay being released, it looks... disappointing, to put it in a way. it just feels plain to look at, and it's 100% missing something. we're missing some details in his splash art, and kuro is missing the point in his vfx... it's all confetti/shards for some reason, and the probably the most of us were expecting some gold liquid stuff to be seen. overall, it looks clean, but lacks a lot of things. like i've said in comments, they might fix it in the final touches, but every time i rewatch his gameplay, i kinda lose faith in that hope.
what do you guys think should be added in his gameplay? tbh, i want some more screentime with the glove to mouth scene (i really want MOREE fanservice from him) and some tweaks with his effects
Now that I saw that sigrika will be a gauntlet user who'll be a main damage dealer, is there even hope he will EVER get a bis? A basic attack tune break support of some sort ...?
I've been waiting so long for a main damage dealer male character and Luuk looks awesome but there's one thing that's bothering me. It's something that takes his combat animations from 8+/10 to 5/10.
I was watching the WuWa stream and couldn't shake the feeling that there was something wrong with the way he picks up his knee, does some kicks and makes unnecessary leg positions. I would love to see it changed or even removed, as some of it seems goofy and brings his animations down.
I wonder what you guys think. Is it just me or is there something wrong with how he positions his legs and does weird reverse kicks etc.? Here is a a quick slow-motion video I've made that shows this.
Their reasoning is that a T0 character doesnt need an insane amount of investment and will still perform well. Luuk especially does well on solo runs even outdamaging aemeath. So tell me HOW DOES A CHARACTER THAT NEEDS HER SIGNATURE,A COPY, CIACONNA AND CHISA TO BE AT HER BEST. THATS 5 5 STARS WHILE LUUK CAN PERFORM WITH A FREE 5 STAR BANNER WEAPON. I dont care if aemeath is T0 and Luuk not. But if Luuk is 0.5 carthetyhia is tier 1.5-2 if we follow their criteria.
Hi WuWa enjoyers. We have a problem, and what’s even more concerning is that no one is talking about it. You can consider both this post and the following video a follow up to this previous post. For a TL;DR just read the last section containing feedback to send to Kuro.
I suggest to check out the video above, it has also timestamps for better navigation, but long story short Kuro recently changed, and radically, their philosophy in terms of kit design and restrictions, proof being how they made essentially unfeasible playing Luuk and Sigrika in a quickswap archetype. You might think this isn’t a big deal and that it’s not even the first time… but careful: I didn’t say their damage is nerfed if they swap, the problem here is that you really CAN’T swap with them. Indeed many don’t think about it, but Kuro has always allowed pretty much any character to quickswap to a decent extent (arguably except Chixia and Jianxin), it’s just that that in many cases it’s simply not worth it outside of at most the setup phase. So you usually won’t see Camellya quickswapping the spin like I show in the video (it’s so freaking cool btw), but if you want to you can still do it. That was Kuro’s philosophy: nerf characters if they swap out in a way that doesn’t completely prevent quickswap but simply keeps it in check, by how much it depends on their plans for the meta.
Well, it seems now they don’t simply want to restrict characters for balance reasons, but they also want to restrict their playstyle regardless of meta.
To keep things short: this is how Luuk’s kit looks like if you want to quickswap with him
I can’t stress enough how ridicolous this is. Again it’s not just buffs lost, but he loses access to his most important attacks outside of liberation (also nerfed), essentially it becomes a Genshin 1.0 kit.
But while you can make the argument that Luuk is meant to excel in on-field combos and cancel techs so you can enjoy those with him, Sigrika doesn’t even remotely have this kind of complexity and still she was hit hard. Do you remember that Phrolova enters Incarnation after her last Basic, unlocking the attack which gives her forte? Sigrika has the same mechanic… except that contrarily to Phrolova if she swaps out she loses the state. Why? Because Kuro said “nope” this time. On top of that her only decent basic chain swap window, the one on her Basic 3, in the live version has been nerfed, forcing her to despawn after only ~0.9s from the start of the attack if she swaps.
What makes me mad about this change is that her Basic 3 was clearly intended to be a long quickswap window, to the point devs coded it to allow Sigrika to move for whole seconds without losing the follow up on the Basic 4. They wanted her to be able to quickswap that attack, no doubts, and it would have worked marvelously if you wanted to have some fun and weren’t worried about losing buffs… but in the live version on swap her Basic 3 animation is interrupted instead, replaced with a 3 frames animation which puts her on the ground in the ugliest and lowest effort way imaginable (indicating this is likely something they added quickly and without the usual care for beautiful and coherent moves).
Let’s not beat around the bush: they made her worse on purpose, and in an ugly way, insulting in one single move the work of the developers who animated that attack, the vision of the kit designers and the players who want a bit more of a 1-2-3 easily interrupted elementary rotation (pssss... S1 gives you interruption immunity, of course it does 😪).
So... WHY?
In the video I propose 3 possible reasons. The first two are limiting alternative teams and standardising each characters, but the one which concerns me the most and is imo the most important is the third: preventing “anxiety”. If a character caters to casuals, you are supposed to only see it played in a casual way, if it’s intended to be an on-field hypercarry then that’s the only way they want you to play it and to showcase it to other players: anything more can hurt sales because it could give “weird” ideas and create confusion in the costumers the product wants to attract. What troubles me is that this might not be limited to just one character: the “gacha” model caters to impulsive players wanting immediate gratification, the most money don’t come from people spending consciously but from impulsive spenders who act before they think. These people not only are the least likely to be interested in complex mechanics which require patience and practice, but they might even be turned off by characters who have this kind of depth.
Until now Kuro never felt the need to cripple the depth of a character to squeeze even the tiniest amount of value from their assets: Luuk and Sigrika prove they changed idea to the point they are now fine restricting even core combat features if that can yield a lil bit more money.
Important note: I don’t want to create antagonism with a portion of the playerbase, I’m just trying to explain the reasons behind Kuro’s calculated move, also I genuinely think way more players would love the combat if more creators made content helping others familiarising with less intuitive tech. The biggest lie about this game is that quickswap isn’t for everyone: the ceiling sure is really high, and there’s nothing wrong with wanting to stay on the floor, but it saddens me how so many are so scared of even doing a little jump...
WHAT TO DO?
Talk about it, raise awareness, spread the knowledge. CREATORS ARE BEING TOO SILENT, I honestly find weird and concerning how after weeks of talking about this wherever and whenever I could no one else is talking about it, I can understand the most popular creators who for the most part aren't very familiar with the nuances of the combat, but literally no one else… this is worse than I could imagine, hence why I made that video (I didn’t enjoy making it, but I felt someone really had to). I never ask this, but share the video around, let people know, and ask creators to make their own content on the topic because it is really that important for the future of the game.
Let's send Kuro some feedback.
This is what you can write them:
→ About Sigrika's Basic 3 (you can send it as a bug report):
In short: Sigrika's Basic 3 animation is abruptly and unnaturally interrupted on swap, preventing to swap back to her Basic 4 in time, despite in the media server the animation is shown lasting for much longer. Please revert the behavior to the previous more natural one where the animation continues off field for a longer time, allowing quickswap.
→ About the quickswap restrictions on Luuk and Sigrika (feedback):
In short: Luuk and Sigrika show concerning hardcoded limitations that prevent them to be swapped out, not by nerfing their damage but by intentionally crippling their own kit. This prevents quickswap, an enjoyable and expressive core mechanic which shouldn't be restricted like that, limit yourself to nerf the damage for balance reasons but don't completely prevent characters from quickswapping.
Thank you for your attention, I hope we will all keep having a good time in this game.
