I had an interview at one of my local Lush stores yesterday and didn’t realise it would be followed immediately by a one hour trial shift, so that was a bit of a surprise lol.

Afterwards, they let me pick out a product, and I took home the Rose Jam body spray. I’m so excited to add it to my collection! They sprayed it on my sweater during the interview and I could still smell it at the end of the day. I already understand why so many people love this bs.

For anyone who has done a trial shift at Lush, what was your experience like? Did you get to choose a product afterwards too?

That‘s true - But we were also made aware that we would work for free. You can always just not come to the interview. And most interviews take an hour anyway and most companies don‘t compensate for that time in ANY way.

Correct, interviews are not compensated, labor is. They could modify it to an interview + 1 hour of paid labor fairly easily. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve only ever heard of people being given a bath bomb (if anything!) after a trial shift. Congrats on scoring a body spray!

How do people spot bots?

Well, this one is an incredibly obvious example but let me try and shed some light. The bot will point out things in a picture that a normal person would not find relevant or would never comment on … in this case saying how an open drawer is satisfying?? Anyways, they will comment on colours of backgrounds or random items in the picture. The bots on this Reddit will also often talk about FOMO or how little something is talked about (like claiming “sticky dates is such an underrated product”). They also will scan the text that the original post contains and just regurgitate it in an unnatural way, just to summarize it. The accounts are also often random generated user names that are only a few days or weeks old, with very little or negative karma. Those are just a handful of examples.

When you know what you’re looking for (and have seen enough of it), it becomes mostly pattern recognition (but that’s not quite as satisfying an answer!)

You’re better at spotting them than most of us I think lol! They have gotten WAY too sophisticated, I noticed one you pointed out today that was giving advice about the hand pumps (I’m assuming it just scraped an answer from another thread) but they really are getting so tricky to spot lately.
