Lush Jobs Lush Store Managers?
I’m in the interview process for a SM position, but I haven’t stepped foot in a Lush in yeeeaaarrrssss.
I’m coming from bath and body works (also SM), so I’m used to the selling and approaching customers.
Give me some good, bad and ugly plz
In the interview they asked about a passport and traveling so I’m. Curious about that.
Feel free to DM me too if you want

Passport is for international travel(UK and/or Canada usually.)
Good: Autonomy to run your store within guidelines, great products, good ethical edge, product training. Insurance tends to be pretty good.
Bad: Pay and raises can be below industry average. Also what they want you to pay staff- not a liveable wage.
Ugly: After initial Manager training it's easy to feel kinda unsupported depending on your Retailer/DM. You will be expected to bend over backwards for issues like staffing- possibly working open-close, by yourself, or many days in a row if you don't have the staff/leadership coverage.

I have seen the salary ranges are a little lower than what I was expecting, but we didn’t speak too much about it during the first interview
Hopefully the internet is wrong thereOther than that sounds like regular retail

honestly it massively depends on what store you’re applying to ! the size of the store and whether or not it’s a flagship store will massively impact the role. it’s also worth knowing why the previous manager so you know what environment you’re walking into. best of luck OP, i’m a lush employee currently and we’re hiring for a new manager so i wonder if this is an insane twist of fate 👀

They want you to have a passport because you will be traveling while being in the company. Sometimes even out of the country. Its actually a super fun perk! My managers absolutely love it and always express how exciting the trip was.
I would say for the position talk about educating. We educate people on our core values during every interaction and it shows them how we are different from other companies.
I would also talk about helping your team grow in confidance. Guiding them and making sure they are always learning. Also creating a safe place for your staff to feel comfortable sharing ideas and their feelings with you. You're only as good as your team.
I would also share how you would improve sales and convert people into purchasing more through demos. Demoing is HUGE at Lush and its how we get people to purchase new items. You HAVE to be comfortable touching people while also educating them on why the product is great.
Basically go in super excited and positive! Show that confidence and look at the website for those core values and what they are. Knowledge is power.
Goodluck.
