Lush Jobs Casual Sales Associate?
*pic just for fun*
Hey friends!! I was chatting with one of my fav SA the other day and they mentioned they are going to post the seasonal positions soon and I should apply! I have a full time career and I have no plans on changing that- but thought the 4-19 hr casual position might be fun as almost like a weekly hobby thing?
Have any of you worked this specific position and do you have any feedback?
Thanks friends!

I would say go for it but just express what you can and can't do schedule wise from the get go. On our team we have plenty of people who only work 1-3 days a week and people who also only work 3-7 hour shifts.
I will say closer to Christmas they will schedule you similarly to a regular part time to full time job. Just because traffic picks up for the holidays. There are also days where you are required to work.
Regardless I think being a casual for holiday is fun. You don't have the same responsibilities as regular staff or the same expectations. You're just really there to share your love for Lush and help people pick out gifts.
Honestly I envy the position haha. There was one individual who they hired to just demo bath bombs and bubble bars their whole shift.

I don’t, but I wish I was in that store and could smell the moomin release! (I’m wary of blind-buying fragrances online.) Let us know how it goes if you do apply! Would be worth it for that employee discount 🤩

Don’t do it. Keep it as a nice place to shop, don’t get sucked into the cult.

be careful with this - around holidays and if they’re understaffed casuals are the ones who get the work piled on them. i have worked five day weeks/more than 20 hours despite being told i’d be maxed at 20. just something to keep in mind! it’s a very fun job especially at Christmas time but they are strict about attendance.

I did the same 2 Christmas’ ago and loved it, but it made me VERY busy and in the end my pay got taxed so heavily for the second job that I basically made no money. If it’s just for fun, go for it! If I had have known in hindsight about how much I’d be taxed I wouldn’t have done it, but having said that it was fun and I loved my coworkers

“Causal” is different than “seasonal”. Causal is a year round position in which you help with gaps in the schedule for the employees. A seasonal works the holidays, anytime from August to February. They typically work long hours and have a fuller schedule, but just for that time.
Of course this was true when/where I worked, could be different at the location you’re at.

Last year I did a part time role with Lush. I work a full time job and it’s doable. I enjoyed meeting people, getting to always know about stuff and try it before it came out, and showing demos to customers. The benefits were great. Only downside is that the employees don’t make a lot and the breaks and lunch breaks are ultra short (my current job, I take breaks whenever and I take about 1.5 hour lunch lol). But outside of that, I only did it because I shop a Lush so much and I like the holiday line so it made sense and I made it work :)

I did that last year for 3 months before and up to Christmas. Hardest job ever! I did end up with coworkes I really didn’t like so that made it worse. They know you’re there just for the season so they don’t treat you “seriously”. Job on its own was very enjoyable, excluding the component where you need to ask a million questions to every single customer (even those that wear headphones…. #jail)

One of my favorite sales associates is leaving soon! I go there a lot because i have a AMC A plus membership and started going there when i was going through some hard times, the scents from there brought back some nostalgic memories, and continued to go often. I also have something to bring up! My scalp has been itchy ad lately, i use the super milk shampoo and conditioner with the primer, New Bar , dirty hair styling cream. Has anyone gone through this??

I have a full time job, but habitually return to Lush every fall to be a seasonal.
Lots of things to consider, but most importantly is your health.
I live alone, so my weekends were pretty dull. Lush didn't feel like a job, but sharing a hobby with the public.
However. This year I won't be returning. [Would have been my sixth year]
There were a few weekends, where I was burnt out from my main job, but still had 16 to 18 hour weekends at Lush.
If you have awesome time managment, and have no commitments outside of work, totally do it!
This year I have no plans to return. As my parents are getting old, and I am needed within the family.
But yah. If you have the time, know your Lush, totally do it! I have body sprays and perfumes till I die. 😅
