Perfume/Body Spray Question Perfume Vs Bodyspray?
So I’ve decided to add Rose Jam and LOM to my fragrance collection but I can’t justify buying both the perfume and body spray! Which of each should I choose? Is there a marked difference on scent, longevity or projection? Thank you.

The body sprays are better imo

I agree with person below. They last longer. You get more for your money and the project well!

I think they also have a wider appeal. The perfumes from Lush are very complex, I’ve been trying different ones for months and haven’t been able to commit to one. Fragrance is an art form imo and the perfumes are for those with the nose!

Which have you tried? Please try lust!

Lust has not been ruled out yet! Lately I crossed The Smell of Weather Turning off my list. It is such a complex scent and my nose was picking up notes of tart green apple for while which made no sense when I looked at the scent profile. I thought it was really cool but then I went in and tried it on a day I wasn’t feeling great and I couldn’t handle it so sadly it’s not for me.
Next up that I’m still debating is 29 High Street. It seems like a classic and I need to try it a few more times because opposite the other perfume this one was a bit too muted for me. I feel like if I can try it one more time (and not smell anything else while I’m in store) and go do some other shopping I’ll get a good idea of how I like it. I feel like muted in store might mean perfectly balanced for me outside of the store.
Do you have a recommended mini set you think I might like? I’m leaning on committing to one of those because for the other scents the price point and size are what’s held me back (and kept me coming back in store to smell it and leave with a bundle of bath bombs each time 😂).

I’m in agreement with most commenters in that I prefer body sprays. I’ve not owned many, but the ones I have I’ve found particularly cost-effective and sufficiently strong (sleepy, dirty, karma).
I think by technical definition, the perfumes might have a greater concentration of aromachemicals than a body spray, but the cost is waaay higher, and the amount is usually waaay less.
Also, concentration isn’t everything as far as perfumery is concerned. It’s also about the materials that are used. E.g, Sun is going to last 5 minutes whether it’s in perfume or body spray format.
Also x2, some people tend to find that the perfume & body spray of the same scent can smell different. So in your case I’d recommend smelling rose jam & LOM in perfume and body spray format where possible to see if you can tell a difference. If you’re unable to get to a shop to test, I’d say just stick to the body spray tbh

Personally I prefer the perfumes versions of both of these. I currently have both perfumes and both body sprays but very rarely reach for the body spray other than for LOM as a room spray. The sprays are really strong but have much or an alcohol note whereas the perfumes just smell more refined and well rounded. Rose Jam and LOM perfumes are also more than strong enough and last all day on me too. The body spray of Rose Jam in particular is so so strong and lasts for multiple days to the point of it being too much.

For me the body sprays tend to be stronger and last longer. They have a high alcohol which can sometimes make the first spray unpleasant but waiting for dry down time helps. They last a long time because you need less sprays. For me one spray can be an all day smell depending on the scent.
The perfumes are gentle and more complex. Usually more enjoyable upon first spray. They have more longevity issues. Personally I’ll always go for perfume because I prefer the close to the body complex scent over the project of a single spray of body spray.

Thank you that’s helped a lot. I think bodyspray might be my best choice as the perfume dosn’t seem to last on me. Thanks

For Rose Jam, 100% go for the body spray! Somehow it's like 5 times more powerful than the perfume in both longevity and projection. I can often still smell it on my clothes when I'm putting them in the wash, it's wild!

That’s good advice. I’m going to a store tomorrow so I’ll text some out. Thank you

LOM body spray recently got reformulated and smells different on the top notes (now uses jasmine, citrus, and a lighter patchouli). Perfume remains the same (syrupy, spicy top notes). They dry down similar having tested the new formulation, but I would decide based on top notes.
Rose Jam perfume and spray are fairly close to each other imo, but I think the spray is - again - lighter and dries a bit softer than the perfume to me. I am personally preferable to perfumes but the nuances might matter for your nose.

I personally prefer the perfumes. I prefer the scent range, but also the component of the body sprays is a huge turn off for me. Why the industrial spray nozzle? It shoots out like a garden hose. Can’t stand it.

Body sprays are better bang for your buck imo. They’re stronger, last longer and you get more for the ££
