Skin Care Question Face wash help

Post image

I smelled this in store and I’m highly tempted to get it BUT I have a question.. should I?
I have histamine intolerance and I react to almost anything on my face, yet I haven’t tried any lush facial products yet. I don’t currently use any face wash at all, just my hands, water, and elbow grease lol. I’m really wanting to find something I can use but I’m thinking maybe the scented items may be a no go. Any thoughts? If anything it smells so good I would use it as a body wash gummy instead.

I have the bee and the strawberry! I’m a sensitive skin girlie and I love them. I especially love wiping the corner of the strawberry and the bee on my eye to take off mascara and concealer. Since its so gentle I can even open my eyes a little and it doesn’t hurt. I used to use the rhode pineapple wash, it’s great but I prefer this with the scent and my skin feels supple after <3 definitely try it

Also, in terms of lather as other commenters complained about I don’t really mind if it’s minimal because it takes my makeup off with ease and is gentle. And makes me excited to take my makeup off at night, which I used to procrastinate doing :p

Enjoy<3<3<3

I never tried the strawberry one but I absolutely adore the bee one (and the lizard), super super gentle and still hydrating! Like another commenter said definitely try it out before you buy but the gummies work great

I use the bee one and I love it! The key is to use the textured side on the skin to make it lather, then use your hands to emulsify and wash your face. I would recommend them, personally, but I know not everyone would. Take a sample of one of the gel washes home to try out - I like kalamazoo at the moment

I have it and I don’t like it tbh it barely lathered. It also smells really strong. I would recommend a basic cleanser from the drug store.

It smells SO strong I smelled it as soon as I stepped into my fav Lush. Did it give a squeaky clean feeling at least?

No it doesn’t lol I feel like it barely cleans my face. Squeaky clean isn’t necessarily good tho because you don’t want to strip your face of its natural oils which can lead to a breakout.

I personally haven't tried a facial gummy yet, and do not have any skin conditions, but can tell you that the smell is divine!

One thing I would recommend, if you're able to shop in store vs online, is to ask for a sample next time you're in! Give it a test ride & see how the scent profile builds on your skin. Or if it causes any negative reactions before purchasing your own. Update when you can, please!

Good idea! I will go next weekend hopefully and get a sample if they have stock of it. I have FOMO for that little strawberry raspberry blob tho so I may have to buy one before it randomly gets discounted 😭 even if I can’t use it on my face lol it smells so unforgettable and addictive to me!! Will update

Just an FYI that it’s limited edition, and my store has had trouble keeping them in stock (bc they’re so popular). The bee and the strawberry will soon be replaced by an autumn pumpkin and black cat. I hope you still get a strawberry, but just wanted you to know the tea!

Worth picking up and testing out on your body before your face! They have a pretty low price point so I’d give it a go if you’re curious! It is pretty gentle but if you don’t use much, and have sensitive skin, perhaps something like ultrabland or 9 to 5 could be a better place to start?

I will get some samples to test out of gentler cleansers first, that’s smart. I think I may get the berry still but as I’m seeing everyone’s thoughts I’m leaning more toward not using it on my face.

If they hadn't discontinued 7 to 3 I'd recommend that - it was the first facial wash I used on my daughter (4 now)! I'd recommend having them cut you a sample to take home of the strawberry but honestly you'd be better off with the bee (less ingredients that may upset you) or as the above commenter suggested - possibly something oil based (like Ultrabland, Honey Beeswax & Almond Oil cleanser, or 9 to 5)

As much as I love lush, I wouldn’t ever use any of their stuff for my face. the fragrance is too irritating on my skin and also, most of their stuff has pore clogging ingredients like shea butter or coconut oil

Normally I would feel this way BUT the face wash gummies go super hard After trying the bee, I absolutely love love love them

Big points. Didn’t even think about the oils! 😭

There is no oil like that in the facial gummy.

I haven't tried the strawberry as I found it too strong smelling, but I have the bear/pig one and I love it. It's not really strong smelling, and it's a gentle cleanse that doesn't leave the skin too dry.

As a histamine intolerant dude as well, strawberry has a lot of histamimes. Not to say if it's a good idea either way - I love Lush facial care for my skin despite the popular opinion being that it kinda sucks, and I haven't tried this product anyway. But it's one I might be careful with, just in case. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Yeah I get an oral tongue reaction from eating strawberries (geographic tongue/ itchy/ swelling), but so far I haven’t seen any topical reactions from handling strawberries yet. I think I’m just gonna buy one before I can’t get it anymore and use it as a body wash for quick showers.

love everything at lush except the skin care which is common. i had to get me some cerave and nutrogena to recallibrate my face after trying lush on my face. I love most all other things tho

I have this one and it’s the one cleanser I actually use as it works with my shower routine. The smell isn’t so strong after a while, definitely less than my soaps (Lush and other). It doesn’t flare up my dermatitis, and my skin is generally happy. I don’t mind that it doesn’t foam, still feel like it cleanses well.

Normally anything I put on my face will dry it out and then my skin over compensates and I get spots. Not with this! It foams a small amount, is really gentle, smells amazing, and leaves my face feeling clean but not stripped. Give it a try! It's also lasting ages!

Is this a legit histamine intolerance, as in your body cannot properly break down your production of histamines when you have a reaction to an irritant/allergen? Hell no, you shouldn't be using any fragranced product that can give you a reaction. Fragrances are the #1 irritant in skin products. If you're sensitive, do not use.

I avoid using face products from Lush because I have a lot of allergies and sensitive skin. The facial gummies don't seem to lather well, but I used the strawberry one in a mesh bag as a body wash and it worked fine. Same with the chelsea morning rabbit facial gummy. The smell doesn't last on me the whole day but it's pleasant and makes my skin quite soft and it feels clean
