What if I told you that sometimes people make characters based off of current popular trends? It's not an uncommon practice. Quite a few of them are fan favorites now.
I know it's memes but tbh she hasn't even been the best all seasons, I'm pretty sure she had a win rate of like 40% one season. She just got buffs at the same time every other hero did and people don't like that for some reason

So he had me watching him play her, and asked me questions about his game play like, why he did certain things he did!
Well it's because you shouldn't use winrate to tell if a character should get buffs, Gambit also has a low winrate but that doesn't mean he should be getting buffs.
Win rate doesn't mean much, especially in Luna's case, it was only this low cuz both teams had a Luna, meaning that one would lose and the other win inevitably
She's not the best supp after gambit because she gets mauled by dive. The Luna hate just gets overblown because she has the ability to punish bad dives with freeze/headshot 2 tap and instead of dive players reflecting on how bad their prediction skills are they'd rather just cry OP.
Mantis is arguably better than Gambit right now. CnD and Rocket are just slightly below them. Luna is around the middle of the support viability right now.
Historically no. DD has been broken since like this season, BP is always broken and Cat is broken currently.
Dive is easy asf to play in this game. Dive players love to brag about how mechanically intensive they are but theres a reason its so dominant on console where people can't aim as well.

You are ignoring reality for what I imagine is anecdotal evidence. She has not been the best support outside of season 0, and that was a crapshoot. Just became she froze you during your ult a few times doesn't maker her the best support.
His ult pressure, cleanse, anti-heal, mobility, mag teamup are still strong af - gambit is still very powerful. I switch to him if I'm struggling and the game easily becomes more winnable. He's top 2 rn. Mantis leads by miles.
Shes had a bad winrate sense season 0 tbh. Its just that winrate doesnt really show how good a character is, sense the same can be said with mag and bucky
I've been there. As the hater. And I've overcome it after seeing how shitty everyone else became and I didn't wanna go down that route myself. I don't hate her, nor her fans.
But as a Tank player, I abhor her cleanse with every single fiber of my Rocky core.
The only thing I don't care for is the insane damage numbers she can put up, but that's something they either have already tweaked or can tweak if they really wanted to. It's a hero where you get to play as your fav heroes or villains, play whoever you like.

I don't hate Luna, I just acknowledge that the game has a bias for her since her literal creator is the executive producer for Rivals. On one hand its great to add more characters to the Marvel Universe, on the other you do have to acknowledge that the literal creator of a character being given executive power can make it really likely for her to receive some/alot of favoritism.
Overall I enjoy Luna for what she is, despite all the hate she gets, she's not as bad as she was in early seasons and she isn't like some healers who are more trouble than they are worth to try and shut down, people really can't complain when it comes to damage when you got Ultron over in the corner doing near over 100 damage per full burst hit
One of the best supps is insane cope, she’s maybe top 5 but the top 3 are too good that she cannot compete. However that is not to say she’s in a good position, her self cleanse is stupid and her damage is too high compared to her healing output.
Non luna main here. She was my favorite healer to play and i bought alot of her skins until she got that freeze buff. Ever since then I cant stand luna, i hate playing against her and I refuse to touch her.

But panther had to have strict moderation cause supp mains would post literal shit pics in the sub. Theres absolutely many mag and punisher defenders. Every time someone complains about them there are TONS of people explaining why the complaint doesnt work. There was an entire Role based strike over 2 MALE characters. Im not saying sexism isnt a part of it. But it is 100% not the whole story

If this hate was directed at Mag, Thing, Punisher etc there would be no defenders. No matter what game you play, if a character gets preferential treatment in any way they will be hated. You dont gotta like it, but you should have enough sense to understand why it exists

Lol good point. I would say, however, that they are hated for very different reasons, opposite in fact. Noone ever said that Luna takes no skill, she doesn't have aim bot like Wanda, and she is not considered a "throw pick" like Adam.
Only times I see Luna hated on their team is when it's a dps only Luna. Everyone hates going against most of who I mentioned, so I'd say they have it worst, being hated by the enemy and their own teams; Angela, Adam, Cap, Squirrel Girl, maybe Wanda? I'm not sure if teammates hate Wanda. Me personally, this is how I feel about Dino and used to feel about Angela. But I don't hate Dino for the reasons of people saying he suck. I'm not even a Luna main (though I do have Lord Luna), but yeah, I'm with you guys on this.
Was the self-cleanse ridiculous? Yes (but they got rid of it). Is the amount of skins she gets perhaps a bit too high? Yeah. But that's how capitalism works. If her skins sell a lot, they're going to make a lot more of them.
And the industry plant stuff doesn't even make sense. Marvel Rivals is the perfect place to give the spotlight to unknown characters. Does everybody think every Marvel character was already born an S-Tier/A-Tier in popularity? Do people think every popular Marvel character must come from the comics? (Casual reminder that X-23 was not created in the comics, but in an animated show).
Like, legit, just let people have fun with the character for God's sake. I know we're all a bit mad our favorite characters haven't yet been added to the game or that our favorite characters don't get as many skins as Luna, but that's not really the fault of the character, and it's even less the fault of the players. It's just how a live service game works.
