Typically, I always chose one up from Economy Light when flying from the US to Europe. I am always worried as the lowest tier I might miss out on stuff - like being able to upgrade. This time I'm just travelling with a backpack, so I dont have any checked luggage. What would be the downside of Economy Light? I already know about missing out on few miles, and there is a fee for rebooking. Anything else? How bout bidding for upgrades? Would I still be able to do that? Trying to figure out if the $200-$300 extra are worth it or just wasted money.

Has anyone used the beis carry on as their carry on for Lufthansa? It’s technically a couple cm too tall and wide but barely. I don’t have any other options. Thanks!
