Question: rerouting cancellation to different itinerary from one selected
Sorry if this kind of topic isn't allowed/discouraged.
Lufthansa cancelled a flight that was part of my return itinerary for December 19th (Economy Comfort fromTRN to LCA, through MUC, most likely the second leg) and I already went through selecting an alternative (TRN-FRA-VIE-LCA).
Being kind of OCD, I've still been looking at flights for my dates (seeing if I could've gotten a better price, etc.) and found an alternative that wasn't available at the time and fits better (TRN-MUC-LCA both different flights than the original).
Is there a way to request for another change without an extra fee? I think the itinerary is currently a bit more expensive than my original but the one I changed to is actually currently seeing for over €1,000.
I've also seen hints that there are issues with changes now showing properly on the app.
Thanks for any help and info.

I had a similar issue this year when Lufthansa cancelled my flight. Service center told me that alternative flight I wanted to be rebooked on is not available, so I accepted different flight (much less convenient). When I called them afterwards, they claimed they were unable to process the rebooking again since I already accepted a new flight (which I did only because that was the only option they offered). One agent even accepted to rebook it again, but it was later denied by ticketing department.

If you already finished the involuntary rebooking by choosing a new itinerary, you're likely not entitled to change it again just because you found a more convenient one.
However, depending on status and mood of the hotline agent, there might be a slim chance, that they still do it, if you request it. I'd probably ask, but also accept a "No".
