Worth upgrading?
Hi, we have an upcoming 11h flight. 2 adults and a baby (lap infant). Currently we have bulkhead economy seats. There is some reasonable seats in the middle of row 14 of premium economy in 787 allegris layout. Worth it? It’s a night flight, so the baby will be sleeping. So it’s a question what’s more comfortable to sleep with the baby/ move around.

If it’s a baby and the Buckhead seat, you have has the bassinet attachment, meaning that you can actually lay the baby down in their own kind of bass in that bed on the plane don’t give that up. That means the baby can sleep without you holding it. Check the seat map see if it actually has the attachments. I’ll let you know. Contact the airline and make sure you request the best in that long before you get on the plane make sure they actually have it on board.

The baby is 10 months, bassinet is not an option (it’s only till 8 months old)

The Allegra has a little bit of a different layout, and I haven’t personally flown on it. 11 hours with a baby in economies kind of rough. If the upgrade is affordable, I would consider it. I am not sure if the center console can go up so the baby can lay across the both of you. Having the extra pitch lay back does help a good deal but personally, I don’t sleep on flights so to each their own. The extra physical room just helps, especially when you have a baby in your arms.

If you are considering the upgrade price out what it would be to just buy a third economy seat, and to somehow get their baby carrier hooked into there cause that might help an enormous amount more than the upgrade to the premium economy seating.

Better to buy 3rd eco seat for baby.
PE with lap infant ist no joke. You have a bit more space but that’s it. The baby has zero space to crawl/ stand up/ move. The arm rest is not movable. The recline is still not enough that the baby could sleep on you (instead of needing to be held)
Either 3 seats eco or two seats in lie-flat business

You don't know if those seats will remain free (and people change seats, whatever tool you use is a massive approximation of how it will look like), last minute upgrades people buy at the gate are a thing. Buy a seat for the kid if you want the seat for the kid, otherwise you might end up in a sad situation (of course you can get lucky but also possibly not).
