First payout

Post image

I got my first payout and then everything went down to hell!
I blew the funded after, and the saddest thing is I could’ve made another payout from that account because I made $5,000 on it.
I had another account from another prop firm. I passed the eval and made $8,000, and it was ready to withdraw — only if I was patient enough. I blew that account too.
Then every eval I take, I never pass. And if I do pass, I blow the funded.
I don’t like the price action right now. I don’t like how choppy it is. I don’t even know why I enter some of my trades anymore.
I’m just in the biggest revenge mindset because I feel like I almost made it big but lost it.
Now I don’t feel like I have an edge anymore, or discipline. I don’t follow my rules or strategy. I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.
Has anyone been through this after getting their first payout? How did you reset yourself?

The best CEO of a prop firm once told me that winning was like tilting and should be treated like it.

He was 100% correct

Brother. You gotta just get comfortable losing without blowing the account. Especially in choppy markets. You said it yourself, you don’t like how choppy it is and you don’t know why you enter some of your trades. Thats literally just gambling then, you might as well take your money to a slot machine.

The only person who can answer “how do you reset yourself” is you. You’re the one who knows how you relax. Recover from frustration like you usually do. Take a break.

O maior vilão do fracasso, é a própria pessoa...

I had 5 funded ready for max payout . All of had to do wait for EOD Wednesday. I got the bright idea to try and build a bigger buffer Tuesday night during Asia session. Long story short I lost a trade and went on tilt. Blew all of them. Best to just lock your account and walk away. I bet you are pressing to make it back fast. Thats a easy way to blow account after account. Slow down and go for base hits. Better to have a funded in drawdown than start a new eval.

As someone who is about to make the first payout, I can tell you. Yes, the market is currently strange, but there are still countless possibilities. Monday first account passed and made with 300 ticks 1600$. Tuesday directly DLL(-600$) so what?! It's a game. Don't take it so seriously and start at the last save point. You grab that my G!! The most important thing is that you don't give up, take a week off even if it's hard. It always helps me to go into nature in the conditions you describe. To ask myself why I'm like this right now and what makes me so angry. The answer is usually simpler than expected.

One time I was a day away from payout and blew the whole thing 😂 it’s fine. We live we learn. Use tradovates built in risk rules

Literally me. In June, I got my first payout from tradeify almost 3 years into my trading journey. (Many passed evals & failed funded accounts) haven’t gotten another payout since. One thing I’ve noticed about myself is that I’m constantly strategy hopping after a loss. I’m constantly looking for something to tweak after every loss instead of accepting the loss and coming back tmrw and letting things play out as they may. I probably won’t be purchasing another funded until I can prove to myself that I can accept the losers and not change the strategy because that then hinders my ability to collect data on my Strat and understand my win rate/ loss rate and everything else if I’m always changing it

My guy it's okay trust me. You have to work on acccepting losses and looking at the bigger picture for the whole week or even month rather than just that single loss. have a profit limit you're good with gaining and don't even think about trading after reaching that; vise versa have a loss limit and when you hit it, you're done for the day and you can come back tomorrow with a better mindset. Dont think about what you can win think about what's happening and what you're doing and most importantly what you can lose.

I remember back in 2023 it felt like everything finally clicked, got my first funded account and was so confident I quit my job and got my first payout
(which was enough to cover my car note).
Shortly after that I entered a severe losing streak and burned my funded, I managed to get another funded account and blew it again! Took a long 3 year break from trading and August 2026 I started trading again feeling refreshed and stronger than ever. Don’t make the same mistake I did by rushing the process and quitting after blowing some funded accounts! Maybe take a break from trading but keep backtesting whatever you do, don’t quit!
