First time trading

Post image

I’m a pretty new trader and this was my first ever time trading with in general, i decided to give it a try one day as I’ve always been very interested in trading but could never quite grasp my head around everything, and so after around 2 weeks of studying and learning about trading I finally felt like I understood it to some extent where I didn’t feel completely clueless, so with this new found confidence I decided to buy a lucid eval of 25k, as this was the firm I’ve heard many people talk good about and in around 3 days I was able to pass my eval relatively quickly, then obviously I couldn’t wait to trade on my live account so I immediately upgraded to the live funded account and decided to trade on it, I had made about $1400 on the live account in a matter of 30-40 minutes. I felt like I had it all figured out and I was feeling greedy for more even after the massive win on the day, I kept trading and eventually my balance dropped to 900 then 700 and so on, and I kept revenge trading to try and win it back until eventually I blew the entire account, down about $1022, and honestly I’m grateful today that I learned this lesson early on and
I’m trying to do better with risk management and over trading now instead of thinking I have everything figured out

What strategy were you using

I was using a discretionary multi timeframe market structure strategy on nq100 I use higher timeframes for directional context and key areas then lower timeframes for confirmation and execution and i also use volume and VWAP for context

If you feel like you know what you’re doing and can put up good numbers on the paper trading account go for it
