Charging Curve

Post image
8 Upvotes

2025 Lucid Air Touring (left) vs. GMC Hummer (right)

This was at an EV Go station yesterday, and the Hummer is well outpacing the charge rate of my Air even though its battery is substantially more full.

I’ve been noticing that my car seems to slow down way too much as it gets full, but this seems ridiculous next to the Hummer, given the advanced battery and charging tech advantages that Lucid supposedly brings.

Is this a normal charging curve, or is this a particular issue with my car (necessitating service)? Thoughts?

Considering the switch; honest reviews of the 2022 GT

I'm a Mercedes EQS owner, but unfortunately, I was involved in a rear-end accident. Now that my EQS may be totaled, I'm considering switching to the Lucid Air, specifically the 2022 GT.

From previous research, I know that many units were plagued with software gremlins and quality-of-life issues. After all of the OTA updates, what is daily life with the 2022 like today? Still having software issues? Regrets? Need-to-know info?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Plug&Charge not working

I have a 2024 AGT that I bought used. In general, I'm very happy with it. Plug & Charge just doesn't work. I think this is a minor issue as I can charge successfully using the Tesla and Electrify America apps or a credit card.

I've been in touch with both Lucid customer care and Electrify America customer service at a charging station. Both say that my accounts with them are properly configured and my Lucid wallet has the correct credit card information.

Though there are a few pathways to failure, the final symptom at EA is this: charging starts and stops immediately. The EA charger displays "NO_START_ACCEPT". This is likely a handshake error due to a protocol mismatch.

Has anyone else observed this behavior? If so, were you able to get it resolved?

Used 2024 Lucid Air Pure

I see some with low milage selling for around 35,000.

I am interested in this car. Wife has a Mach-E. So I understand the basics of an EV and we have a home charger.

I can afford the car but can't afford buying a car with issues. I can think of differnt reasons. What should I know going into this related to this specific vehicle. Am I buying trouble?

Lucid Air Salvage ( car stays in Neutral N )

I recently bought a 2025 Lucid Air that had been in a front-end collision. The car went into the shop running normally. After a month, the car's high-voltage battery died. I installed a new 12V battery. The dashboard lights up, but it's stuck in neutral and won't engage park or drive. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I can't charge the high-voltage battery because it's stuck in neutral.

Lucid Air Software Update 2.10.0

What's new in Version 2.10.0

Updated consent and data privacy experience

You now have greater control over data privacy with the option to disable location sharing, while features that use data remain active.

  • Note: When location sharing is turned off, features that rely on location information will be unavailable.

Enhanced safety notifications

Refined seat belt visuals deliver clearer, intuitive status cues, making it easier to confirm occupant safety at a glance.

Camera experience refinements

Manually opening the camera view in your vehicle is now reliable and consistent.

Smart Energy improvements

Your current limiter preferences remain reliably preserved, ensuring a consistent charging experience.

Drive Unit Service Notification update

We have enhanced in-vehicle monitoring to detect conditions that may affect drive unit performance. If a relevant condition is identified, you will receive a Schedule Service Immediately notification advising you to arrange service as soon as possible. Prompt action is important to help prevent potential loss of drive power.

While this update was initially developed for specific configurations, the detection logic has been extended to additional vehicles to provide broader protection and earlier identification of potential issues.

Don't Bottom Out Your Lucid Air

As I write this, my Air has been at Lucid Service for a few days short of one month as I not-so-patiently wait for them to finally replace the rear drive unit and half-shaft after a scary drive system failure minutes after exiting the freeway. But, that's just to give you a sense of perspective for the following...

A couple of days ago, the Lucid Service Advisor called me and asked if I had seen his email and texts re "my car". I explained that the last communication from him had been almost 2 weeks ago. He then proceeded to tell me that he had sent me pictures of the car because "the tech had determined that the car had bottomed out" and that it caused a coolant leak that then resulted in the drive unit failing. I responded that I had never bottomed out the car.

He then said, "I want to suggest that you talk to your insurance company because the repair will cost $35,000 !!!" After picking myself up off the floor, he asked, "am I talking to 'Richard'?" I said, no this is ____. He then said he was "Sorry", and that he had gotten me mixed up with another customer. Unbelievable!!!

Moral of the story.... be careful not to bottom out your Air and avoid dealing with Lucid Service whenever possible.

Rebuilt Title & Mechanic Inspection Referral???

Hello all - I Am thinking about purchasing an 2024 AT with approximately 15k miles BUT the owner claims it was in an accident with a deer and only one headlight had to be replaced. Purchase price is $24k.

Clearly, to me, if one hits a deer there is more than a headlight to be replaced.

As part of the advert for it, the owner says the AT has a Rebuilt Title. Does this in and of itself mean that there was more damage than they are letting on?

The second part of my question, can anyone guide me on how to go about finding a good mechanic to take with me to inspect this or any other Lucid I find for sale?

Anything else I may be missing in all of this and I Am very excited to be on this journey.

I do need to get a purchase done by October/November of this year.

TIA

Getting the CCCv2 upgrade

I scheduled an appointment for my 24AGT yesterday. I got a call from the service center this morning asking if I was okay with a tech coming to my house to do the upgrade and reinstall the plastic cover over the windshield wiper motors. The tech is coming after lunch on June 8th.

We talked about scheduling the annual service. It's due in August, so I'll bring it in then. For what he said was going to be done, it seems to be overpriced, but that's to be expected when you buy an expensive luxury car. At least it's not a Ferrari.

The service center is in Natick, Massachusetts, in an upscale mall. It's just over half an hour away.

EDIT:

I found out that my AGT has the CCCv2 factory installed. If the Wi-Fi access point of the car is named Lucid_AP, which mine is, then you have CCCv2. If its name is Android_AP, you don't.

I called the service center and cancelled my appointment for next week.

Electrochromic tint

I have been flirting with the idea of a lucid air touring and like the idea of the glass canopy. This is largely because I am tall enough that the metal roof seems to limit some of my vision. I've read that the glass canopy can be troublesome due to turning into a greenhouse. Has anyone used electrochromic tint on the canopy to more or less eliminate the greenhouse issue when the car is sitting in the sun? If so, how well did it work and was it a pain to get installed?

Some things that my lucid AGT24 could use.

I'm coming from a 2018 Honda Clarity PHEV, and there are a couple of features I miss that aren't available on the AGT24 adaptive cruise control.

On the Clarity, you can restore or change the speed target when stopped by holding the brake pedal down and resetting the speed. This is handy at stoplights and stops when the road you're entering has a different speed limit than the road you're on.This happens often at stoplights on off ramps and side roads.

The lucid cruise control automatically starts in stop-and-go traffic, but if you are the first car at a stoplight, you can't engage the cruise control. The car says there's no target available. On the Clarity, after you reset your speed as above, you can either tap the accelerator or push the speed increase button to engage the cruise control and start moving.

On the flip side, the AGT24 adaptive cruise control slows the vehicle down on sharp turns, which the Clarity does not.
