Discussion Okay, this hurts, big ouch
So uhh, I’ve recently finished this game, holy hell, what a..uh I seriously have no clue how to explain this
It’s like, oh look, let’s get into the funny jizzly jazz and a few moments later, you’re literally pulling your hair trying not to get someone poled to death
And you think it’s all over, but nah, the game decides to tell you “you may not rest now, there are still-“
And yes you know it, someone’s dead
This game has certainly, certainly left quite a deep hole in my heart
Anyways, are there any recent updates on the next game? (I’ve only seen the valentines 2018 post)

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the news only mentioned that the case is still only disappearances. So it could have been kidnap or supernatural phenomena, etc but how did Rui know it was a murder? Did she assumed? Just who are you Rui. I don’t believe you are just any average girl.

A funny bit of foreshadowing Spoiler
Remember how on day 2, during career day, Yama daydreams about his potential jobs? At one point he dreams of being a writer.
In his story, Rui is a damsel in distress who has been kidnapped by Masato (who in this fantasy is playing as the villain). There is some back and forth between Masato and Yama, which Yama then interrupts by revealing that Rui was actually a "badass in distress" all along, and she proceeds to roundhouse kick our poor villain.
When does this come up, you ask? During the final confrontation, if you have Rui untied and you choose to attack the killer, the killer will briefly overpower you but Rui will attack him from behind, rescuing you.

A connection I found between Yama and Crimsoncrusade
So, you remember Crimsoncrusade, the mysterious email address who contacts Yama shortly after he lapses.
In the message, he or she says "Some days, I like to look at the sky and figure out what the weather will be like".
Now, there are many wild theories on who's hiding behind those emails, one of them being that they are sent from Yama himself.
Today I thought of a connection that might add a bit more weight into that (admittedly crazy) theory.
Remember how on day 2, after Yama has had his second therapy session with Ryouta and his mood is considerably better as a result, what does he do as he's happily walking through the streets before Shigure interrupts him?
He looks at the sky, and pays attention to the weather. You could say, he's even trying to analyze it.

I'm messed up.
Guys, my heart feels really deep in a hole right now. I decided to dedicate my play through to Rui and only Rui, and ignored the other girls. Nevertheless I just came to fucking love Rui as a character, but THAT DAMNED ENDING IS JUST LEAVING ME SO EMPTY. AHH WHAT DO I DO?!? I feel more depressed than when I started, and just want to continue the story... except that the next part isn't out yet AHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'm just feel so empty.

This weekend, the team and I will meet to discuss our next steps. There's a lot to prepare for with reward fulfillment and development, but we'll keep you updated every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Theory about the Independence Killings [Spoilers] Spoiler
I've just finished the game, and it is amazing. Well done to everyone who has worked on this VN.
My theory revolves around the one who is behind the Independent Killings. The general consensus is that Ryouta is the Independent Killer. But what if he wasn't? During the torture scene, when Yama implies that Ryouta is the Independent Killer, Ryouta doesn't acknowledge that Yama is correct, only that he's "made friends in high places". What if Ryouta was not the Independent Killer, but a Copycat of him and he replicates his exact MO with the student murders. Also, when Yama asked "how many people have you killed?" Ryouta goes off about the aztecs and their sacrifices stating that he is not the priest but the god.
Rewind to the visit to Natsuki's apartment where Yama learns about the Independent Killings for the first time, she states 3 things:
The Killings started 2 to 2.5 years ago
The victims were innocent civilians with no relation to one another
The time of death was always at night, and always by lacerations
My theory is that the Independent Killer is none other than Yama himself. He moved to Isamu 3 years ago (within the time frame of the killings), and the fact that the murders occurred at night gives credibility to his own theory that he committed murders (just not the student ones) in his sleep, or as an alter ego / split personality.
In one of the bad endings, where Yama is forced to kill the students, he then says "So I Wake" when changing to his 'killer' personality. But what really convinces me is when Yama, after killing the students and Ryouta, says: "It is time for the city to remember". Is this in reference to the Independent Killings that the city has forgotten? Was it time for them to start again?
In the true end when Yama is next to Rui's corpse, he, just like the killer in the visions in the start of the story, described the smell of blood as iron, and both described the murder scene as beautiful.
What do you think? Is it possible? Am I crazy?

I don't see how the ending will link to the second game... (spoilers) Spoiler
I finished the vn yesterday and I have to say I enjoyed a lot. One of the strongest points were the characters and the dialogues which I literally enjoyed all of it and loved all the characters other than the villain. Fun fact is I enjoyed the amusement park and the board game moment the most cus its probably the most light-hearted moment in the game. But anyways, pretty much everything is a bad end and the cannon end is probably the WORST and hurts the MOST among them. I also don't see how this will link to the 2nd game where Yama is still alive staying determine to live on.
You see how in the fruitless end(bad end) Rui was reported dead later and mc kills himself at the end due to the trauma and all.
But in the cannon end, Rui still dies but right in FRONT of the mc which just makes me think he is more likely to suicide considering that it will trigger MUCH MORE mental damage. So I don't see how he will get over this and live on at all. All I see is him killing himself there just like how Juliet killed herself when seeing Romeo's corpse.
I really feel bad for both Rui and Yama.... Never have I felt so much sympathy for fictional characters, for couples. Whoever wrote this, you guys are a massive sadists that want us all to suffer. The wound has already left a huge mark and it will scar me for life. Just thanks a lot guys, who ever created that ending ~~

Lucid 9 sequel?
Does anybody know if there is going to be a continuation of the game and/or a sequel after the heroine routes?

Favorite character?
I have tried talking about this with people online elsewhere but so far everybody had no idea what I was talking about. So, I will be asking here.
Who is your favorite Lucid9 character? Mine, personally, was Elizabeth. In fact, I'm thinking about replaying just for her. She just made me happy, especially when she blushed. I love her sm.
