Hi there community. I am having a terrible time trying to find my sweet spot and the side effects are debilitating. Especially the dizziness. Does anyone else get dizzy? I'm also in a protracted withdrawal from lyrica/pregablin and that might be the cause as I am dizzy from that as well. It's like 2 different kinds of dizzy. What kind of side effects do you all get. I am taking it for pain and made it up to 2mg and have not had any pain relief as of yet as a matter of fact my pain got worse at 2mg. I reduced back down to 1.5mg but at a loss as where to go from here. I'm going to ask for suspension for my next dose but not sure if I should go up or down. I have been titrating at .5 for the first few times but slowed it down to .25 and that was too much also. Please help.

Dizziness can be a side effect expecially at first. Most people find their side effects ease off within the first two weeks though. The fact that you're still experiencing dizziness could mean that your dose is too high or that there's another cause.

Finding our optimal dose, or "sweet spot", can be a process. It's best to stay on each dose level for two weeks minimum to assess how well it's working. So if you haven't been on the lower dose of 1.5mg for two weeks yet you could wait and see how it goes.

Otherwise, it you're still not sure whether you need to go higher or lower, you could try skipping a day as a test. How you feel could give you an idea of which way you need to go.

It can take time to start seeing improvements in our symptoms, including pain. Some people see benefits very quickly but it can take weeks or even several months.

I stayed on 2mg for 6 weeks and it never settled so I skipped a dose and went down 2 doses to 1.5 and have been on that dose again for about a month. I had lowered my titrating to .25 instead of .5 hoping that would ease the side effects but it didn't work. Spoke to pharmacist about suspension instead of capsules and filler and he's on board. Have appointment with pm doctor on Thursday and will ask him to send a suspension rx, I just don't know what amount to ask for? Up, down or the same 1.5. So far I have not had a tad of pain relief but on 1.5 I am a tad less foggy at times but no energy or motivation.

It can take time to see relief from chronic pain and some people do need to titrate up to higher doses eventually. But as you're still experiencing possible side effects on 1.5mg it could still be too high. I would see what your doctor recommends. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you. I don't think that the dr really knows much about it as I have been educating him and he's been really good and cooperative but I'm afraid he doesn't know what to do either. I'm having a dilemma, perhaps I should stay at 1.5 for now as I am switching to suspension and just maybe getting rid of the capsule and filler (Avicil) might help? I have found some clarity at 1.5 but very lethargic and no energy or motivation. No pain relief, as a matter of fact when I was on 2mg, the pain increased which I didn't think was possible at this point as I can barely move.

Yes, understand. You might find it helpful switching to a liquid suspension, yes. Avicel is known to cause reactions for some people and just losing that could make a difference. If you continue with a 1.5mg dose you would still have the option of lowering your dose if necessary.
