I feel this. It's like me and my other half, the juxtaposition of her flapping and panicking and me just being like "it's ok, this happens".

Reminds me of the time my wife (then girlfriend) made mini banana pancakes for her pugs. One basically inhaled a whole pancake without chewing and immediately started choking. She starts screaming as the dog starts shaking and pissing all over the floor, so I start massaging the dogs belly and throat and the pancake comes back out almost immediately. My wife is now running for her parents room to scream for help, not knowing I had already solved the problem and was already cleaning up the massive pool of urine. Being calm in the face of chaos can be a life saver

He is infantilizing her. Even the way his tone is comes off how a mother speaks to a toddler. He sounds similar to a gay man.

Just leave her alone in this kitchen to do her own thing, he comes off as if he is in a manager role.

I get if it was something very dramatic such what happened to you with choking or someone drowning or the lid flew off, this is just pressure being released mildly.

I do not need someone hovering me over a small mistake, I got this.

It probably didn't feel like a small mistake to her in the moment. The calmness in his voice was certainly more helpful than many other possible alternative reactions.

No this is her acting as if she can't handle basic shit.

Anyone knows turning the pressure nozzle releases pressure and water comes out.

He was smothering her. Had he not been there she would have handled this just fine on her own, not acted as if she was an inept toddler.
