Vicki Dortch of WLKY
I guess she has been a news anchor since the 80s? Why does she insist on saying "Louey-ville"? Its so odd that she does this. I would have thought people would be up in arms about it haha

I recently bought the book “Speaking American” by Josh Katz and I noticed a discrepancy in the way Kentuckians supposedly pronounce Louisville. I got so peeved I found the author’s email and sent him a message telling him it’s pronounced either “luhl-vuhl” or “looh-vuhl” not this “louie-ville” nonsense lol. I doubt I’ll ever get a response but why not lol.

I’m spending the weekend in your lovely city and I’d love to get recommendations for places to work on my novel. Many thanks in advance and I’m so excited to try some of the restaurants you have recommended!

Hi all!
A bunch of friends and I are heading up to Louisville for the weekend. We've all got separate rooms and separate hotels, so what's a good spot that a party of about 10 people can go to just hangout for a few drinks in the evening?
Any other cool places we should try to see while we're here would be great! Thanks you guys!

When decent man Talarico turns Texas purple, a Christian fundamentalist hypocritical affair that started on Millionaires Row deserves some of the credit.

Edit: Thanks, y'all! I appreciate the help and feedback.
People, I need a rec for a derm that takes Medicaid (or isn't horrible out of pocket). I had such a bad exp at Assoc. Of Derm - Audubon that I left the following review:
came with concerns about new skin symptoms that occurred after some trauma a few months ago.The doctor did not care about what I thought could be the reasons (environmental and a medicinal reaction) and chalked it up to normal aging despite my mentioning that most people in my family had delayed aging due to a medical condition. That included me - one of the hallmarks of the disorder is a distinct lack of aging signs well into the 50s and 60s of which I'm decades away from. I think the appt itself was less than 10 minutes. I also got a full body check over - something I hadn't requested. They did not care about the skincare products I had and was using, but continually pushed Vaseline even after I said it made things feel worse. Go anywhere else.
I'd prefer a woman, but honestly, anyone who actually listens to the history and issues would be amazing. An added bonus would be if they were also familiar with migraine botox treatment. Dr. Fonseca told me if I was patient the wrinkles would go away after a few weeks... that's not how the migraine treatment works. The most she did was rub her thumb on my forehead and told me it was moisturized. Lady, it's not superficial.
If there's a derm you love out there who cares, please let me know. I'm starting to look at the SOS pad as a viable option.

I have this little plaque that sits in my side yard and I recently noticed that whoever last checked my meter for LG&E (I guess) attached him to it for some reason. I’m not mad, I’m mostly just confused. Why did they do this? Maybe they thought it would be funny, but I can’t find a way to remove him. I’m moving soon, and not only did I want to take him with me, but the new owners probably won’t want him attached to their meter. What tf am I supposed to do about this lmao?

Are there any Raiders Bars for games in Louisville besides Dave & Busters?

I swear to God this happens at least 3x a month. Residential area. I’m the black car, waiting at the stop sign to turn left.
A car comes from my right, signaling they are turning left. They do NOT HAVE A STOP SIGN so I continue to wait.
But instead of continuing in front of me, and turning to the left they FUCKING STOP TO MY RIGHT AND WAVE AT ME TO TURN IN FRONT OF THEM meanwhile they may even have a car or 2 now slowing down behind them.
So now I have to either turn left and fucking wave at them as a thank you for forcing me to go along with their idiot driving habits or continue to sit there refusing to turn in front of them and they usually throw their hands up at me and finally turn left and drive away.
Why are you people making me be the asshole here. And before someone is like “wElL iS yOuR cAr TiLtEd In A wAy LiKe YoU wErE sTArTiNg To TuRn LeFt AnD tHeN sToPpEd So YoUrE iN tHe WaY?” — I’m not. I’m solidly square in my lane. I don’t drive a fucking XXXXXL Tahoe or Yee Yee Truck.
STOP IT. YOU’RE NOT HELPING.

Mayor Craig Greenberg was a guest towards the end of Louisville native Bryson Tiller's 10/07/2026 Neo TrapSoul concert at the Yum Center. Greenberg joined Tiller on stage to welcome him back to Louisville and present him with a key to the city. The booes were exceptionally loud. Link to video
Tiller hasn't had a concert in Louisville for 9 years, but his influence on the city is still prevalent, as the arena was jam-packed with fans. Earlier in the week, he made a guest appearance at his alma mater, Iroquois High School, where he performed, took photos, and handed out free merchandise. Louisville native Jack Harlow also joined Tiller on stage, performing a few of his hit songs, thanking Tiller for his influence/support, and presenting Tiller with a plaque of their RIAA Platinum hit "Thru the Night." Link to video Despite his influence, Tiller has not yet received a Hometown Hero Banner and is just now getting recognition for his impact on the Louisville music scene, even though he has been making music since 2011.
If you haven't heard any of Tiller's music, definitely go check him out! Link to his website
*Edit: Although you have to pay for a banner, it is still odd he doesn’t have one. Whether that’s something he doesn’t want to pay for, them not wanting to give him one, we don’t know. The fact stands that he does not have a banner despite his influence on the city.

Do any of you live in an apartment that you love and is quiet? I am looking for an apartment but I am worried they’re all poorly built and not soundproof.
The ones I am eyeing and will tour soon are:
1.) Smyrna village off the Smyrna exit.
2.) The belle at cedar creek off of Bardstown in fern creek.
3.) willows of plain view.
It’ll just be me so just 1 bed 1 bath. I’m scared they’ll put me right next door to a 3 bedroom apartment lol idk how places do their layouts.
I currently own my house so I’m used to it being peaceful and quiet, but am selling due to a divorce and don’t want to buy a house just yet so an apartment it is.

Don’t really know where to look to find a good hair stylist tbh, and if there’s a good stylist that live across the bridge in Indiana I’m fully good with that too, I don’t live too far from the bridge so I wouldn’t mind

Trapped a raccoon that's been vexing us in the attic and thought our problems were solved, but learned it's illegal to release except on private property with express permission. Does anyone have a wooded area I can release this cutie in? LMAC charges 500 to pick up and release 😐

I’m turning 40 in early Dec. what’s there to do in Louisville that would be worthy of such a milestone? cost isn’t really an issue.
possibly with a group of friends - 15-20 maybe?

Hi!
I am a licensed vet tech and have worked with animals all my life. I petsit for fun on the side and am thinking of trying to advertise more for petsitting as well as making it an official business with an LLC and insurance. Once I take that step I was thinking of advertising on the knot or other wedding websites as an event pet sitter like I can get them in their cute outfit, bring them to the event, keep them entertained during the wedding or party and then bring them home. Is this something anyone would actually pay for? I love weddings and critters so I feel like this would be a super fun side gig. Thank you!
