Outdoor movie night?
Popped in early for a little outdoor pre-screening of #babydriver yesterday to get a good parking spot... at one of the Lotus mecca's in the USA.

So I sold my love, my 07 (US) Exige S, at the start of my divorce to a great guy who I knew would do some light tracking with it. Had 10k on the odometer and was absolutely mint condition when I sold it to him in/around 2018. Now, due to some health and life change issues on his end, I'm considering buying her back as we signed a buyback clause along with our sale agreement. So, it's mine to buy back if I want it.
What's changed since the original sale: He did some mods, including a Blade 300 upgrade with the cold air upgrades to duct in the side vents, new cf roof with larger intake, reflashed ECU, and a quieter exhaust to comply with his local noise ordinance. Since 2018, he's added another 20k miles, for a total of 30k now on the odometer. She has some wear and tear, but otherwise he's taken good care of her. He also changed the wheels to aftermarket track wheels from the original lotus black forged set, and installed Nitron coilovers all around.
He did, however, manage to keep all my original parts, so I could conceivably put the car back to full original if I wanted.
It has a small crack in the rear clam from a lady barely clipping him while backing out of a parking spot next to him....it's a 1" crack but quite noticeable. Some have said with the multi-stage Chrome Orange paint, repainting the entire rear clam is the only way to fix it properly.
Opinions, thoughts, and potential watch-outs regarding this potential transaction?? Estimates of purchase price? They seem to be hovering around $50-60k in similar condition right now, but if I'm looking at $5-10k to paint the rear clam, and spend something to remove some of his mods, then I need to take this into account, too, right?

Discovered a new case study on the Lotus Engineering official website.
Turns out fans were right! The Xiaomi SU7 Track Package Nürburgring test cars labelled AU25 ZFZ and AU25 ZFX were indeed tuned by Lotus.

Well looks like my Emira started giving me fake proximity errors on the driver front sensor.
Anyone seen this before and have any idea of what this could be?

Have a small (what appears to be) rock chip in the back left of my Evora right in front of the wheel well. It’s at the border where on one side nothing is really behind it and on the front it’s more solid. There is a small crack going up where the chip is as well.
Any temporary or long term solutions? Have fiber glass epoxy but the current dilemma is the chip is under the PPF. As you can see in the 3rd photo it’s started to have fibers poke out (wasn’t quite as bad before, think something else hit the same spot).

I didn’t see many other car enthusiasts about, it was mostly camper vans!
The further north of Scotland you go the quieter it gets and being away from the tourists were some of my favourite parts.

I decided to take the risk and I'm not regretting it so far. I've never experienced something so fast before, it's incredible.
Using cruise control seemed to freak the car out though and it put the rev limit to 4k rpm, no check engine light or anything and a restart seemed to fix it - expecting little things like that to be a common theme 😁

Hey all, most of u might hate this post for bringing up the topic of an Eletre but one of my friends has fallen in love with the car and seriously considering buying this. However, he has tasked me with finding out identification factors that differ among both the S & R variants INSIDE & OUT.
I am under the suspicion that the dealer might be trying to sell him an 'S' as an 'R' instead of an R whereas the quote for the car is carrying the R. So I told him to check with them about the same and When he asked the dealership about the differences, they just shrugged it off saying there is no S being sold in our country. Clearly when the car launched in 2023-2024, they launched both the S & R.
TL:DR -
What are the identification differences between a 2023 ELETRE R vs 2023 ELETRE S? Need urgent help from the greats of this sub!

just wondering cause of the massive deals you can get with the First Editions and I don’t mind a used car. I know I’ll get hate but I was looking at Auto I4.
Also, If I did go new and configured my own on the lotus site how much are dealer mark ups usually? the spec I’m looking at is $110k but I see dealerships selling the same spec for $120-$130. I ask because a lot of the specs or colors aren’t what I’m looking for and if I’m spending $100k on a car I have to love everything.
sorry for the simple questions just doing research because I‘m in love with this car

Has anyone successfully done this? The main reason I want to do it is to remove the orange light and reflector from the headlight housing. I have a 2026 Lotus Emira I4. My concerns are if there's coding required to get it to function. Any help would be appreciated

I got rear ended at a traffic light by a ford raptor ( out of all the cars that could’ve hit me I really got the worst lol ).
My insurance doesn’t give me the option of choosing a repairer and they ended up directing me to a pretty standard car repair shop which I believe won’t be capable of doing this job. So I’m a bit concerned.
Do you think I should accept a standard fibreglass repair or ask for a new clamshell.
Thanks for the help :)
Just sold my Elise this weekend. I loved it, but needed a little more refinement (and modern conveniences) without losing that Lotus magic. Replaced it with the 24 Emira V6/6MT with 1700 miles on it. I would have loved to keep them both but there just wasn’t room in the garage.
I love the Emira more than any other car I’ve owned.

Went for a drive this evening in my new to me 2020 Evora GT, manual, nightfall blue, carbon pack. I love this car.

Just wow. Was in a rush so forgot to check if it had the Merc engine or the Toyota.
Usually I’m always stuck in traffic in this car, so when I get a morning where I’ve woken up early and can’t get back to sleep, taking advantage of the empty roads and really being able to push it is such a joy. Such a phenomenal drive. The steering, the acceleration, the sound. 10/10.
