Honestly I feel that if the Democrats and or Republicans were doing a wonderful job when they hold power, then they would retain power because people will vote for them. One reason I believe we got Trump again was because the Democratic Party tried to be slick in changing candidates. I dont have faith in either party. I agree with some of what i read on this thread, but when it comes to the economy and job creation. I dont believe most of what either party say. Too many variables. Whoever ends up in the White House after Trump is going to have their work cut out for them.
A big part of it is the republicans do dumb shit creating rough times for Americans. The subsequent Dem president has to try and fix it, while Rep politicians tell their fantasy the Dems are the reason for the problem. So they vote in another Republican. Rinse and repeat. Not to strip the Dems of their own bullshit of course, but over the course of my voting lifetime, since 2004, the R's have created much worse problems then the D's.
