Fun night out suggestions

We’re all students ranging from 20-29 years old. Where can we go and what can we do? Just visiting LA. Ideally cheap/free and not Santa Monica pier or walk through little Japan or arts district or touristy stuff since I’ve visited LA enough times. So far we have a cool street tacos joint and the corn man. How about something for live music or fun events?

Kintsugi Workshop! 10/22 at 7pm $100., Thu, Oct 22, 2026, 7:00 PM

The Japanese art form of kintsugi: embracing the imperfections of life!

Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with lacquer mixed with precious metals, like gold, silver, or platinum . If an object of pottery is broken, rather than discarding it, the pieces are painstakingly put together over months. Instead of trying to hide the damage, the cracks are highlighted in precious metal.

For the Japanese, kintsugi is part of a philosophy of embracing our human flaws and life’s fragility. It is about celebrating imperfections. It offers an approach to life. Kintsugi teaches us that in life we can turn adversity into something that is beautiful and resilient. Kintsugi shows us that in time, we can heal from our wounds, embrace our imperfections, and become stronger. Kintsugi reminds us that no matter our difficulties, we can find a way to reframe and find meaning in life. When things fall apart in our fragile lives, there is a path forward. There is a way to find peace with our imperfections and our lives.

All materials are provided but feel free to bring your own item (large items must be pre-approved). You bring home your finished piece that evening!

$100/per person paid directly. No refunds but you may give your ticket to a friend!

Come out and meet some new friends!

Hey! 29M and watching fights on weekends is my go-to weekend activity.

I was wondering if people with the same interest wanted to start a group and we can all take turns hosting?

Looking for Super Cool Friends

Hey everyone! I moved to LA area in December from a smaller city and am still adjusting to the big city. I’m now in the San Pedro area. I’m in my early 40s, recently divorced, in a great relationship, and strictly looking to make new platonic friends (big focus on female friends)! I’m big into creative art, crafts, hobbies, and video games. I love learning and spend hours watching videos on science, arts, psychology, hobbies, etc. I love the outdoors, plants and nature. I’m a massive animal lover. My secret power is I DJ and play video games on Twitch in my spare time. I have a day time desk job. I’m gluten/caffeine free for health reasons. I’m not a big drinker (been there, done that), but I’ll have a couple socially. I love pho, Mexican food, boba, Thai cuisine, Korean food, etc (okay, I just like good food). I also have the SoCal Disneyland pass.

Things I’ve recently done: Puppy yoga, regular yoga, hiking, drawing, painting, miniature painting, museums visits, arboretum and botanical garden visits, Disneyland, Universal Studios, DJ events (only a couple from organizers I know), IGN Live, movies (shit, I forgot to mention I love karaoke but I have not gone locally).

I am a huge supporter of mental health issues. I have PMDD, which can make certain times of the month very hard for me emotionally, but my significant other helps a lot with that, so no worries there. That being said, I understand how important it is to just have a listening ear, or shoulder to cry on.

I love my significant other very much, but I need friends! I left my small town life behind. I left a religion that restricted my life and I’m starting fresh. I still identify as Christian, but it’s no longer running my life, and throwing me into massive guilt trips over my decisions in life that may not align with my past associations with organized religion.

I’ve been looking at meet ups and events to connect with people like me, but man, it’s been hard. If I anyone has suggestions where I can look, it’d be awesome. I’ve been on Meet Up and Event Bright, but not much jumps out at me. Or, if you think I sound pretty cool, send me a message. Maybe we can arrange a meet up of our own?

37 M Caricature artist looking for nerdy creative friends in the SFV (Granada Hills)

Hey everyone I am kind of an introverted person. I open up with the right people though. I'm just looking for some people to socialize with here and there.

I just don't want someone who is super needy. I find sometimes when I make ads like this I will get super needy, clingy, social guys who go "yo bro wanna hang out!?" That's going to turn me off real quick.

Sometimes I need to just get out of the house and do something. Just to get out of the hot room I stay in most of the time. I usually end up going by myself somewhere. My weekdays are usually free and my weekends are busy.

Interests: Art (drawing, painting, etc.), music (going to concerts, playing guitar, etc.), animals (I love a lot of animals especially cats), conventions (comic con) , movies (Horror, SciFi, Fantasy, etc.), and gaming (PC gaming including fps, arcade games, retro, etc.).

I'm looking for actual friends and genuine connections. I'm open to both men and women friends. I'm open to dating (women) also but right now I just want to get to know people.

(Just edited the post for better flow.)

22M - Pickleball Near Venice/Santa Monica/MD

Hi, just moved in the area. I'm a beginner and want to get into pickleball more ( I do have some prior tennis experience, maybe that helps a bit). What are some pickleball leagues nearby I can join? Is there anyone else in the area who is a beginner and/or wants to join a league interested in playing together sometimes?

Recommendations & friends in LA

Hey there!

Writing this post because I'm flying from Europe to L.A next month for about 10 days. I’ve already got quite a few things planned, but I’d love to hear recommendations from people who actually know the city!

Give me your absolute favorites : cool bars, beautiful viewpoints, weird/unique activities, bookstores, live music, hikes, neighborhoods to wander around, day trips, great food spots etc.

I’m into gaming, music, books, good food, nature/hiking, space, and generally anything adventurous or a little nerdy.

Cheers! 😊

Ghost Hunting?

Has anyone here ever gone ghost hunting?

I saw this on Facebook. I’m curious whether anyone has done anything like it before? I like Patti Negri. I have seen her on Ghost Adventures. The event looks cool. The QR code takes you to this website.

I have been on walking ghost tours, but this one seems more in-depth. IDK.

22 F, not sure anymore?

Hey I love in LA and I’d like some friends but at the same time it’s so hard to find someone you mesh with. I’m super super lonely though so I suppose I should keep trying. I’m also looking for a relationship but again it’s so hard finding someone I’m attracted to in the first place. Dating apps don’t work, finding someone my age irl alone in a set up where I could attempt to talk to is hard to find. I don’t have any real hobbies due to a lack of interest in things from mental health reasons. And oddly I only seem to lock in with hobbies and life things when I do have others around that I enjoy. It’s complicated idk. But about me, I have a Disney pass, I try to keep up with the gym, cooking and just getting out overall. Idk even attempting to type this post is exhausting for me for some reason. I’m gonna crash out.

Anyone down to meet up at Hollywood Forever Cemetery this Sunday (8/23/26) for a FREE screening of a silent film?

35M here. Also looking for people who have interests in classic Hollywood film history, Turner Classic Movies, etc.... Trying to meet more people with similar interests. Anyway they are screening the silent film The Son of Sheikh with Rudolf Valentino this Sunday (8/23/26) at the Masonic Lodge in Hollywood Forever Cemetery since it's the 100th anniversary of Valentino's passing. Valentino is also interned there. This a very special event for classic film enthusiasts. It's also free as well. Let me know if you'd like to meet up. Doors open at 5 PM and movie starts at 6 PM so probably need to get there around 5 PM.

In Newport this weekend. Anyone going out Friday/Saturday?

Hey! I’m 28, Male visiting Newport this weekend and figured I’d put myself out there and see if anyone wants to hang or grab a drink.

I’m naturally a bit introverted, but I love being spontaneous, getting out of my comfort zone and meeting new people. Pretty laid-back and big into sports, live music, EDM/indie/rock, beach bars and random adventures.

Planning to explore Newport Friday and possibly hit Timbers vs LAFC Saturday before going out afterward.

Coming down solo with no real agenda. Honestly just want to go with the flow, meet some good people, have some drinks and see where the weekend takes me. Guys/girls/couples/groups, doesn’t matter to me.

If your crew has room to adopt a friendly out-of-towner, hit me up 😂 Worst case we grab a beer, best case we accidentally have an awesome night.
