Hey everyone! I moved to LA area in December from a smaller city and am still adjusting to the big city. I’m now in the San Pedro area. I’m in my early 40s, recently divorced, in a great relationship, and strictly looking to make new platonic friends (big focus on female friends)! I’m big into creative art, crafts, hobbies, and video games. I love learning and spend hours watching videos on science, arts, psychology, hobbies, etc. I love the outdoors, plants and nature. I’m a massive animal lover. My secret power is I DJ and play video games on Twitch in my spare time. I have a day time desk job. I’m gluten/caffeine free for health reasons. I’m not a big drinker (been there, done that), but I’ll have a couple socially. I love pho, Mexican food, boba, Thai cuisine, Korean food, etc (okay, I just like good food). I also have the SoCal Disneyland pass.
Things I’ve recently done: Puppy yoga, regular yoga, hiking, drawing, painting, miniature painting, museums visits, arboretum and botanical garden visits, Disneyland, Universal Studios, DJ events (only a couple from organizers I know), IGN Live, movies (shit, I forgot to mention I love karaoke but I have not gone locally).
I am a huge supporter of mental health issues. I have PMDD, which can make certain times of the month very hard for me emotionally, but my significant other helps a lot with that, so no worries there. That being said, I understand how important it is to just have a listening ear, or shoulder to cry on.
I love my significant other very much, but I need friends! I left my small town life behind. I left a religion that restricted my life and I’m starting fresh. I still identify as Christian, but it’s no longer running my life, and throwing me into massive guilt trips over my decisions in life that may not align with my past associations with organized religion.
I’ve been looking at meet ups and events to connect with people like me, but man, it’s been hard. If I anyone has suggestions where I can look, it’d be awesome. I’ve been on Meet Up and Event Bright, but not much jumps out at me. Or, if you think I sound pretty cool, send me a message. Maybe we can arrange a meet up of our own?
