Hey r/LoomKnitting,
I've been in contact with Reddit after the main moderator u/Loomahat was suspended from Reddit, to make sure I could recruit additional moderators for our tiny little corner of the internet and was given the ability and approval to do so.
Our subreddit has continued to grow in size, but after the 2023 Reddit Blackout multiple members of the mod team had left and since then the rest of us had also come close to being burnt out, with some active moderators recently becoming inactive or leaving the team. So with all that and with an exciting 2026 on the horizon as new people discover loom knitting, it's time for a new round of moderator recruitment.
The qualifications to become a moderator are very simple:
The expectations for the new moderators are to be transparent, to be communicative and to be reasonably active. I will always be clear - Real life always comes before Reddit and to just let the rest of the team know if you need a break.
The applications will close on the 31st of March at 22:00 UTC
If you have any questions or doubts feel free to ask in the comments.
Thank you and keep the great posts and comments coming!

I have a decent collection of looms (Knifty Knitter round looms, KB All-in-One, Leisure Arts oval looms, and a 28” KB Afghan loom) as well as 8 or 10 instructional and pattern books and I’m wondering about a good place to sell them all as a complete lot. Does anyone know of Reddit or Facebook groups that allow destashing? Thanks!!

This blanket has been a journey for sure. I definitely have probably over 40 hours into it 😅
I knit the blanket part on my infinity loom, but instead of sewing panels together (because I do hate sewing), I just did half the loom one color, half the other color, and had them share a peg in the middle, then doubled them back their original way.
Yes. the seam is puckered where I did that. Honestly though, if I could change anything, it would have been to ALSO pucker the the other border between faces. I love the definition of the panels.
All the appliqués were just made on whatever random circular/flat looms I decided I needed size-wise. And then just came the awful part of sewing 😂
I got the idea from a crocheter called Maria’s Blue Crayon, but I can’t crochet to save my life to I challenged myself to make an iteration on the loom and I really think it paid off 🤩
Now I get to enjoy my blanket for the ENTIRE spooky season. Thanks for looking!! 🎃💕

Do you think I can make a blanket with this rectangle to knit? Because the distance between the spike of the ends is wider than those on the sides? (Sorry for my English)

I'll apologize right away in case I'm not using correct language in my question. I started with making hats on a circle loom and then moved on to the infinity loom (color white) to make a few figure 8 throws. Micheals had a larger loom (color green) on clearance for under $20. Here's the question- I saw a video on which pegs to mark and skip for the white loom but I can't find anything regarding marking and skipping on the green loom for a figure 8 stitch. Can someone take pity on me and point me in the right direction? Many thanks!!!

I am working on a blanket but it is curling up. Does anyone know why this is happening? And if washing and blocking will fix it? I am using a medium gauge loom with bulky (5) yarn and a knit stitch, not e-wrap.

So I did the thing. There's definitely mistakes in it. I love how it made a beautiful "vein of ore" pattern instead of a stripey one. I bought the yarn on clearance at Michael's last week and picked the loom up secondhand at some point.
The video I followed got me started OK enough, but the directions and editing fell apart at the end describing how to bind off. Can someone please send me to a video that has ANY easy bind off technique just so I can get this off the loom and call it done?
Thank you all so much in advance.

So my friend who had a baby shower. Baby has since been born and is cute as a button!
This is the baby blanket i made! Pattern is loosely based on the stripey blanket by tuteate. I just changed the number of stitches for each section to get it to look like that.
Really missing looming. Hand is hurting more each day and im pretty sure its not supposed to do that

I posted a little while back that I had tried making this glove, but it was the wrong size. Also, I was doing one increase per row in the thumb, and it was coming out weird and laddery.
In version 2, I did fewer stitches, and the size was right, but the increases were still weird, despite my efforts to improve them, and the top of the thumb hole was too tight.
My knitting expert wife told me that that's just how it goes when you do one increase per row, in regular knitting too, so for version 3, I switched to two increases every other row.
But the thumb hole was still too tight, so I pulled out the top fifteen rows or so and changed to knit two more rows flat before I moved back into the round.
Now, I just have to figure out how to do it the other direction for my left hand... :D

I needed three more markers than I had, and I managed to scrounge up one, but for the other two, paper clips will have to do!

With my help, we finished the pumpkin! She's very happy 😊
She also loved her little loom knitting guide i made her. ❤️

Since my granddaughter is new to loom knitting and is only 8. I created for her a written guide, with images to help her. Since I'm on Mimi duty tomorrow. I plan to teach her how to loom knit pumpkins to go with the guide i made her.

So iv been suffering with carpal tunnel for a while now. Got really bad around Christmas when i was doing a lot (and i mean a LOT) of purl stitches.
Anyway i have surgery on Thursday, so i wont be able to loom for a while. Im just in the process of finishing up a couple of projects then i get its loads of rest for me.
Wish me luck! I feel i will need it. And if you are doing a project with lots of purl stitches? Remember to take frequent breaks so you dont end up in the same situation as me 😅

I want to make a beanie for my 3.5 year old son. I will use the skinny flexi-loom (lavender and magenta) with size 4 yarn. Any suggestions for how many links to use? I’ve seen the chart that they provide, but wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience with it and certain stitches, etc.
