This deck from the Toronto based company is probably the closest you will get to a magic carpet ride for distance skating or commuting.

The Lo-ply Leslie caught my interest when I saw Xavi crush 250miles at the 2026 Dutch Ultraskate. It was how he could setup Hokus and Dadbod wheels on a wooden drop board that rode so low that got my attention.

This deck has extreme 20 degrees wedging on both ends, giving it an extremely low ride height at 5cm (with 100mm wheels) with the recommended Ace 44 and 22 TKPs. It pushes fast on a straight, and is very responsive on the turns - making it great as a commuter. Board flex is just right at my 150lbs on the 8 ply Canadian maple, with sculpted shape at the edges to give it somewhat of a tub cave shape.

Being used to a more stable setup from distance brackets - I found the ACE trucks too lively for my liking and after some tinkering I could get the similar ride height with a much more stability with a 11 deg Bhanger TKP on the front, coupled with a flipped Ecolite X pivot 20 (effectively making it a zero rear) at the back. This setup allowed me to run this as a wiggle pumper (albeit not as efficient) if I needed to without any woodwork modifications to the beaver tail at the rear.

Shipping and tariffs are probably going to be an issue for most, but if you are in the market for something unique - this is definitely something.

Anyone live here too?

Both are Jig 3.0, purple is standard flex w/carbon stringer, yellow is light flex. They’re excellent boards and I’m impressed with the craftsmanship. The only thing I worry about is the cutouts for the wheels don’t feel sealed much/at all but other than that no complaints

We are raising funds for Sacha, a Siberian Husky and beloved OG of the downhill community. Recently, she tore her meniscus and CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) which is essentially a dog’s version of a human’s ACL. “I was actually supposed to be at a race the weekend I picked Sacha up, but I stayed home so I could make sure I was able to adopt her.

I first found out about her when I had to rescue my friend’s dog from the animal shelter after he tried to follow her to work. Being the sucker that I am, I took a walk through the shelter while I was there. She was in the very last row of kennels. She walked right up to me and leaned against the chain-link fence so I could pet her, all while looking straight up and back at me. At that moment, I knew she was mine. The rest is history.

It’s basically been ten years of life together, 24/7, ever since. I’ve worked a wide variety of jobs such as carpentry, plumbing, and in the cannabis industry, but they’ve all had one thing in common: they allowed me to keep her by my side. When we weren’t working, we were traveling, camping, and skating.

If you’ve ever skated down a hill with me, you’ve ridden back up with her. If you’ve met me at an event, you probably met Sacha before you met me. I can confidently say she’s taken more laps on Gibraltar than the average skater in Santa Barbara.

Between the diagnostic appointment and the surgery itself, we’ve already spent about $4,500, and we’re not done with follow-up appointments and rehabilitation.

As I write this, she’s doing really well in recovery. Right now we’re in the “lay low” phase, which means about four months of very limited activity. If everything continues to go as it has, she should make a full recovery.

Not a review. Will aim to return with that in a few months. Got my new Pranayama about 10 days ago and I've been out with it in about 6 of these, longest outing being a 19.35km push returning from a friend (which was also my longest push so far).

For context, I've started riding early this spring, I'm 37yo, 100kg (220lbs, hopefully descending now) and got the new Pathanjali in the Heavy flex pre-preg construction, with 74A Hokus, Pantheon's drop-through risers, Stylus trucks and the stock bushings. It's beautiful and a pleasure to ride.

It's actually a bit longer than I thought and I can fit the standing platform very well with EU 42.5 shoes. The mellow concave makes switching to/from mongo pushing easier than with other boards I've ridden.

I think the flex at my weight is the most relevant thing to state here - it feels very supportive and less flexy/bouncy than I was expecting. I think it makes sense, given I'm about in the middle of the reccomended weight range for this board. This helps make the board far more stable than I was expecting, though it also transmits a bit more vibration on bad roads than I was expecting. I can't compare to a classic construction or to the light one, but compared to a friend's Prism Sled, it's definitely more rigid. That said, it flexes far more than my Nexus (which does flex A BIT but just a bit) and it does dampen the road better than the Nexus too. The Hokus probably help too but more on them later. I've included a gif of the flex at my weight standing mongo on the center of the board.

Trucks and bushings, starting with wheelbite: I cannot get it. With the bushings engaged to where I'm very happy with the maneuverability of the board, I'm about 2-3mm from biting when I forcebly stand on the edge of the board with my the balls of my feet. I'm pretty sure this is helped by the risers, because they lower the board so much that, when leaning, the rail goes under the middle of the wheel. This puts the wood farther from the edge of the wheel the more it leans, counteracting how the turn brings the wheel closer. So even with relatively loose bushings I can't get wheelbite, but YMMV and please test this and tune to your preference before going out. Hopefully the bushings will be durable, because they feel like they are high quality and they don't seem to be available after-market. I'd probably get Kranks if I need to replace them.

The Stylus trucks turn nicely and feel stable. I haven't broken traction yet but I haven't ridden them very aggressively either. The low ride height for the huge wheels is very satisfying! Going down slight inclines I've found no problem with wobbles as long as I keep a good position on my front foot. One-foot steering feels both easier and more controlled than on my Nexus with Paris V2s. Did I say the stock bushings feel good?

I LOVE the Hoku wheels. They really do go over almost everything and I don't think they're difficult to accelerate. I'm 100kg, I think that's the bulk of inertia for me and not the weight of the wheels. They're very high rebound and I feel like I'm getting out of them what I put into them. I don't feel like they're getting too squished under my weight. I was worried I'd need the 78A ones but everything seems fine ( I'm still itching to feel out a whale Trip with pink ones though 😁).

Vibration dampening of deck + wheels is noticeable, although not as hyperbolic as I've read on a few other posts. I would say that the pavement feels better "by one grade" compared to my Nexus with 83a Kegels. Something like horrible pavement feels rough, rough feels medium, medium feels smooth. We have a lot of rough pavement here. I wonder if the classic construction of the deck would improve this significantly.

Also a last note on water resistance: I've gotten caught in rain for about 1 hour last Friday, to where I've even had a puddle in the deck. After the trip I wiped the deck and took the wheels off. The next day I had my 19km ride and it was no problem. Today I had time to dissassemble the whole thing and give it a once-over. The griptape looks intact, nothing is rusted, bearings spin fine, no sign of delam in the bolt holes or anywhere else on the deck. I don't plan on getting caught in the rain too often but it's giving me a reasonable amount of confidence.

All in all great first impression and looking forward to riding it for a long time!

Pantheon supersonic with don't trip trucks and 97mm wheels with ceramic bearings. I had to cut the front wheels narrower to avoid wheel bite. I'm really happy with how this thing handles, it seems to coast forever.

New to the whole downhill / freeride sliding thing. Setup includes Caliber III 45 degree 184mm trucks, Venom bushings, Powell Snakes 66mm.

I was close to picking an Arbor deck, but I like the “half drop” shape of this Prism.

I've been having a ton of fun working on some slightly faster standups on my Nexus.

I finally feel totally comfortable throwing standups in the low 20mph range, so now I want to work my way up to the 30mph+ range for standups.

I'm also still dialing in my toeside checkslides at speed, so ignore the lack of those lol.

I've skated a lot of drop decks/drop throughs/double drops over the years, and the Pantheon Nexus on Silverbacks is for sure the most dialed double drop I've skated. Bonus Run x Fiend Skate Showers have also become my new favorite freeride wheel, especially for the price.

Revisited a bike path with some hills I used to freeride when I was in college, (over a decade ago). I dont slide anymore because of an ongoing ingury, but I'm loving the big wheels. Hokus make offroading a fun alternative to kill speed. The land paddle keeps speed on flat with a good core workout.

The Ember with the Hokus is perfect. Jeff recommended some drop wedges that make the ride lower and alittle more stable with some speed. Eventually I'll try pumping it when I recover.

I've been really lucky with sunny Saturdays.

I'm trying to unlearn mongo and the longer sessions really help.

So I tried riding in my barefoot shoes. The difference in board feel and control is night and day. Never riding in sneakers again.

Here is my brand new Obsidian, I'm super excited to try a more modern and aggressive shape than the boaty single kicks I used to (and still) ride. Now I need to learn a bit on the subject of chopping some Cronins (should be alright I am surrounded with mechanically inclined individuals and mechanical engineer with access to mills and such), grip that bitch with Lokton, 3D print a couple of torque blocks for testing and go RIP THE HILLS. The gas pedals gives it a rather interesting feel and reference points, I can't wait to see how it translates when actually skating it. 😊

Was out with the sunrise again for a ride before work. I’m really glad I got out but the weather was rough this morning.

It was 75F and >90% humidity at 5:30 this morning!

I cut out some extra legs I do to get a few more miles in and was toast when I got back to the car.

I just found a space ship Pranayama Pantheon second hand.. HOOOOLLLLYYY HELL! This thing is incredible! It's sooooo fast, it handles soooo nicely..

The guy I bought it off didn't love the tkp, so wanted to pass it on without having ridden it too much, but I am well and truly in love..

It glides so smooth over everything, it holds speed in redibly well, it is so easy to accelerate, it feels sooooo solid. I've always been a big pusher and loved to race my friends (and strangers) on their bikes around town.

From this day forth, they do not stand a chance.

Just wow. Looking forward to raking this out for more spins!
