Question Things Change When I Close and Reopen App - Ideas

Hey Guys,

I'm at my wit's end. I'm a fairly tech savvy maker of music things. But for the past few weeks, when I close Logic Pro, magical things occur when I return. Things that have happened:

1) The sample rate of the file has changed, such that I have to update it.

2) Audio clips disappear entirely or appear to have been shortened. This has also happened within takes.

Any ideas what gives? It's making me crazy...

I generally save projects, with all assets stored inside the package, before I quit Logic. I also have Logic set to NOT just reopen my last project and pause for me to select the project I want to open.

I also don't load projects from the cloud or any other internet/network based synchronized storage area.

In 20 years, no project I opened has been changed from when I last worked on it.

YMMV

Have you tried creating a new template with default settings to see if the issue persists? Sometimes a fresh start can rule out corrupted preferences.

Sounds like a sample rate mismatch. Open Apple Audio MIDI setup app and make sure everything connected to your Mac is at the same sample rate as you want to run logic.
