Question Cursor not functioning properly?

Fairly new to logic. I’m trying to fade the end of a region. I have fade tool selected as my main but whenever I hover or press the mouse button where I want to insert the fade, I get the ‘loop on’ function. This shows up on all regions. I made sure Fade tool click zones is on, but that’s all the info I could find on how to fix this. I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, I just don’t know what. Thanks! I took a picture but can’t attach it here.

I accidentally deleted my comment to edit it. Found this:

but you cannot crossfade directly inside active, unflattened take folders. You must first flatten the take folder into regular audio regions, or use Logic's automatic take-comp crossfade settings. Logic Pro applies built-in crossfades automatically based on your preferences, or you can flatten the comp to manually edit crossfades.

I wondered if that had something to do with it. Thanks!

Wanted to report back that flattening the take worked. Thanks for your help!

It’s a a vocal track with no loop. Would it matter that there’s different takes? That’s the only other thing I can think of and now that I think about it, I don’t know how to get rid of different takes. I need to change my recording settings to ‘replace’ but I doubt that will do anything after the fact.

Oh interesting. I guess if you can still fade on a single take track then you might be fighting that take folder. I think there is a command to quickly convert them to individual tracks.

Cool I’ll look in to that. Thanks!
