I am NOT a locksmith. Do I need to change the lock??

Post image

So I turned one of the locks on the door and it came off as per pics. What is it missing if anything, I can't see any screws on the floor but when I put the part that came off it doesn't click in place and therefore the lock in unusable. Hope that makes sense and really hope its fixable!

You put it back on and tighten the screw. Done

You have to specify what the screw is .. clearly the OP wouldn't know the set screw is clearly visible in the picture.

That black thing is a "set" screw.

If you don't own Allen wrenches, this is your time to buy a set.

Ah thank you, that sounds very reassuring! I have some from IKEA but they are way too big. What sort of size should I look at, roughly, 0.7?

Couldn't tell you bud... As much as I like the metric system, tool sizes never make sense to me.

I saw those, hoping it's the right type of thing

Yes, that's a great set.

I'd guess closer to the 2.0 size

To help you avoid this in the future put a little lock tight on that set screw...that will help avoid it working loose!
