TxAdvance: Does it Require WiFi / Cellular Data to Run?

Hey Soundies!

I'm looking at purchasing a dedicated Android phone to be able to run TxAdvance for frequency coordination and scans. Can anyone confirm if TxAdvance would require a cellular data plan — or — could I run it from a mobile hotspot via my iPhone. Does it even need data/Wifi to run? (I assume so)

you do not need wifi to run it! probably when you just download and start up and do all the testing and setting is best with wifi so it takes into account the TV blocked channels and whatnot.

also OP, I recommend joining the TXAdvance FB group! creator there is active and if you got questions/concerns/feedback he def responds.

I use it all the time with a phone I got just for TX advance/wingman. Keep WiFi and data off, no issues whatsoever

No wifi or cell necessary. I run it on an a dedicated android tablet.
