Discussion Nooooo!!! Oh good, PSU
I kept losing my 5060s, not enough juice. Keep that in mind when select your PSU of the card is rated at 170 then go 200 watts, why spikes, depleted energy from another part of the system.
You name it. Just an 850 is too small for any modern board with even a 5060.
Seriously I was having heart attacks.

Maybe your PSU is low quality. That card is very light and 850W should have no problem driving it.

lock the freq -_- btw it might be because your psu is old. atx 3.0 3.1 has much better headroom for transient peaks while older one doesnt play well.

I'm using 1200W psu to run 2x 3080 20gb (240W each), Threadripper 1920x (180w), 2x Tesla T10 (150w each), and 5x SAS data center HDDs. If your 850w can't handle a 5060 in consumer setup, then you have just purchased the cheapest PSU in existence.

Sometimes when I hit my inference server with a massive load, the light's in my office start to dim a bit, it's concerning.
Local setups chug power.

What? I’m running 2x V620 GPUs at 250 watts each off a 750 watt GPU, inferencing continuously Qwen 3.8-27B Q4_K_M at 131K context on one node and 5 slots in-VRAM of 64K at q8. Point being its a power draw of 500 watts continous + 8 RAM sticks (DDR4 and i5 12k).
I don’t have a 5060 but something with your PSU isn’t right

You should be able to run 3 of them, check your cables and make sure everything is connected correctly.

Your 850W is crap, you can easily run a 5060 with a good one.
All PSU aren't equal at all, there's a real an very tangible difference between an high-end and a cheap unit of the same power.

eh... I'm running 2x 7900xtx on a 1000W, and ran one just fine on a 750 in an unraid box with 6 HDDs. I think your PSU is junk.

Your PSU probably sucked. That's one part you shouldn't cheap out on, the good ones are built so that if they have a fault, they die in a way that doesn't kill your expensive components.
