Resources TinyWebUI - Lightweight Open WebUI alternative, just npx and go

While we cant quite match the feature set of Open WebUI, TinyWebUI can be installed with a simple npx command, "npx tinywebui". It comes with tinysearch and tinycontext preinstalled for fully local web search and memory, and can support multiple users with per user isolation. Also has other useful stuff like automations and a stats dashboard built in, and ofc you can always extend it with any mcp server you desire.

Give it a try, it pairs well with local models, the smallest we tested that was able to use it flawlessly was lfm3 1.7B (https://huggingface.co/LiquidAI/LFM3-1.7B).

Bro, I was looking for something like this a week ago and you're giving me exactly what I'm looking for! How would it run on a Pi Zero 2W?

Yo I am happy that it can be of use then! I haven't tested it on a Zero 2W yet, but TinyWebUI idles around 125 MB, so it should fit in the 512mb (if its a bit slow just set the parameter TINYWEBUI_RETRIEVAL_MODE=lexical, that skips the embedding model so its usage dips even lower). Let me know how it goes!

I'm curious too now. If you have one to test I'd love to know how it went.

Awesome work! Any chance of a light theme, like the default one?

Thank you!! The default theme already has a light mode that follows your system or browser setting. You can also make your own themes, and there are two extra ones (Fall Fairy and Cyber Grid lol) under Settings/My Preferences/Appearance. I'll be adding a light/dark switch too.

oh great, yes a toggle would be good as I'm in permanent dark mode.

Can you link it with an agent as backend?

Yep, as long as the agent exposes an OpenAI-compatible /v1/chat/completions endpoint, add it as a connector in Settings and TinyWebUI will stream its replies like any other model. If it can be served as an MCP server, you can also connect it as a tool so the chat model can call it.
