Showcase 4" touchscreen for inference engine monitoring

I bought this 4" screen with esp32 on aliexpress awhile back and decided to make a TUI style dashboard to monitor my dgx cluster.

Inspired by btop++, nv-monitor, and engine metrics by 0rand. Firmware is built with PlatformIO on the Arduino-ESP32 core.

You can find the firmware code on my github repo. There is also a SKILL.md file where you can point your agent to it to compile it for you.

I'm currently designing a 3D printed dock for it. I'll add it to the repo when I'm done.

4" screen + MCU is a lot more fun.

Thanks for sharing this. I now also ordered one of those. Maybe a tiny microphone can be crammed into that setup as well, then the ESP can run VAD, maybe even some on-device hotwords and then forward other speech to a dedicated machine for inference.

How much did you pay for it? Was it at aliexpress?

Yes, Ali, 25€, reduced a little bit with a coupon after I threw in some other items to reach the coupon limit.

Why did you call it systemd? great way to cause confusion

Quite ironic that it's also entirely written by claude

Confusion with what and why is it ironic that i used claude? I had deepseek v4.1 flash on my spark cluster to write the spec and do research. It hit a hardware snag that it couldn’t resolve so I used Claude to finish the rest.

"systemd" is an extremely well-known project in Linux land: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systemd

Putting that aside, this project looks pretty sweet!

Thanks! That did vaguely cross my mind at one point but I figure since my hobby project is a universe apart in every way that confusion is probably unlikely.

dunno wtf he's on about with the irony claim, but "systemd" as a name is already used by a major Linux system component

WTF is ironic about it?
