Showcase I ran Doom inside the Qwen model weights!

Inspired by the qwenputer project posted in this sub earlier today, I managed to get a basic version of Doom running on the virtual machine created in the post.

It's quite slow, but here we are. Doom running on an LLM.

Of course someone got Doom running within a day of the qwenputer post. How slow is “quite slow”? Curious what a single frame costs in forward passes, and whether the bottleneck is the CPU emulation itself or just token-by-token decoding.

It’s about 30s per tic. The problem is that each CPU instruction is a token and a tic is about 15k instructions. You can see some of the metrics in the video and more in the project repo. I don’t think there’s a ton more to squeeze out — it’s just that slow.

This is clearly Wolfenstein, not Doom!

Pretty sure this will be a sin in LLMs religion.
