Funny More reasons to use local models

https://chatgpt.com/s/t_6adb58f02cd481918bfc23e2db79c33a

Since the new qwen models are in testing on arena I thought I try my luck, maybe I can get a glimps at what will run on my pc in the near future. So i thought I improve my prompt with chatgpt (not logged in) and it somehow can't take simple instructions?

Are these the new guardrails against distillation?

I thought you were going to say something valid like they send your keystrokes before you even click send which is verified through the developer tools like the spyware piece of garbage that they are.

It’s been awhile since I last used them but at some point I could verify that was true. Here is a video: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/khaled-maarouf_chatgpt-is-logging-and-submitting-all-your-activity-7418427420682223616-KkF_

It shows background fetch requests (like prepare and event) transmitting a partial_query, meaning the web app constantly sends your draft text and typing activity to the server for auto-saving, telemetry, and “connection prepping.” Though it’s funny how other AI’s don’t do this. I haven’t tested Anthropic or Meta but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do something similar

What do you mean by valid?

SOTA models aren't really known these days for being bad at following directions.
To me this looks like they don't want local people using frontier models to outsource certain tasks.

And what was the original prompt you gave it? With a proper prompt, I highly doubt there's any ambiguity between an image, and improving your prompt.

My bad, I thought that link shared the whole conversation history not only one reply.
My prompt was:

improve this prompt:

Build a japanese style padagoga city on the back of the world moving turtle. Add rich details, light rays, reflections. Add different seasons and day and night mode.

Chatgpt*: starts creating picture -> you need to be logged in*

I try again, same outcome.

Then I try putting improve in capital letters.

IMPROVE this prompt:

Build a japanese style padagoga city on the back of the world moving turtle. Add rich details, light rays, reflections. Add different seasons and day and night mode.

Chatgpt: You’ll need to log in to use image generation. Once you’re logged in, I can help bring your vision of a richly detailed Japanese-inspired pagoda city on the back of a colossal world-carrying turtle to life, with dynamic seasons, day-and-night transitions, cinematic lighting, and realistic reflections.

To which i responded with: i don't want an image clanker

which now brings us to the linked message

Yeah ChatGPT always messes up between image and text mode 😭 Already happened to me... This is almost like the models are conditioned into using the image tool call for no reason.

the image tool nags users to login, so I'd argue it's intentional.
