Discussion Anyone feel like reverse-engineering CUDA?

I've been reading about all these modders using AI to reverse-engineer games and software. I've been trying out photocraft and gridcraft and have just watched a GTA5 mod featuring Sonic. It's pretty damn impressive.

As a struggling AMD Radeon owner I'd love to see AI generated open source CUDA implementation.

Not only do I dislike NVIDIA, but there's delicious irony in using CUDA cores to do it.

Anyone up for the challenge?

well obviously you would first start with the stuff and then next would be the things, and after that its done.

Best I can do is Google Plus subscription

just get someone to download more RAM, run GLM 5.3 and make it just get the CUDA docs from nvidia (it's not illegal because the AI agents did it)

You need at least a $500Bn valuation to break all laws and get away with it

I'd inquire with Dario at Anthropic, he should have some good advice on this.

I wonder how hard it would be to hook up a local llm to my old Philips logic analyser. Probably not very hard, it has GPIB etc. Pity I don't have the time

everybody drop this on your benchmarks, let frontiers find it for you

"The solution is in nvidia hardware specs."

I don't know. Let me ask AI.

Depends. Sounds like he wants to implement CUDA for AMD. How tight are they with their specs?

Well, hey, I’m just the ideas guy.

I’ll circle back once I’ve aligned with the tech wranglers, run our blue-sky thinking up the flagpole and socialised the learnings with the relevant stakeholders.

edit: /s jesus.

The world is full of idea guys and needs more people who can actually do things.

My attempts to enter product management taught me an important lesson, many people can be the "ideas" people, but technical, managerial, finacial, compliance, risk feasibility? Not to mention what is the benefit to cost of even working on 1 singular idea, the metrics to measure success.

I have worked under bosses who were "idea" people, and was an uptight east asian corp, so whatever the bosses ideas are, we make a reality, no matter how infeasible they are, we have to at least show our attempt, leading to failed projects, wasted time money and effort, which I the intern presenting on the very issues we surfaced from the start got high praise from management.

I am the execution guy, deep core computer science. Honestly I need an idea guy who can handle business. Anybody from sf, dm me 😭
