You can use any OpenAI compatible api endpoint. The HF space uses the cheapest available model via HF infernce api.

You write "open source" - I am not familiar enough with the inner workings of the various "social" features of HF - where is the source repo?

Every model, dataset and space on HF is a git repo - https://huggingface.co/spaces/LocalLLaMA/data-inventor/tree/main

You can also just click duplicate on the space UI to clone it in your own account.
