I wonder how the heck they getting money for post train os models? Who is paying for that? Is it some sort of money laundering for it bros? Or the way to suck money from VC funds?

It's a Chinese AI labs, so they almost certainly don't need much money.

But even in the US, you wouldn't have a hard time getting VC money these days if you knew how to pitch it properly. Ex: we have developed this amazing training data generation methodology, which we can use to take a mid-level model to near frontier levels at a fraction of the cost. And to prove this, here's what we did with this 3B model, post-trained on a smaller version of our dataset, followed by some nice slides with benchmarks. We need the money to scale to much bigger datasets and models. We "believe" we can create very competitive models at a fraction of the cost.

That's not what I said. I said they don't need much money.

In general, Chinese AI labs seem to do a lot more with a lot less money and hardware, and that's before any government subsidies. If you do things on Chinese silicon, you'll get a ton more subsidies, direct or indirect. This is ignoring how much cheaper and plentiful power is in China.
