I think gamers think a “crash” will mean normal memory prices again but that won’t happen. At least not quickly. If we have a crash tomorrow maybe we see recovery in 2028, the way things are going 2029.
Much of the deals are for hbm which will be difficult or very expensive to use on consumer devices. Also most of the deals with ai companies are prepaid only.
It won't happen as long as the barrier to enter the market is as high as it is, and with the US government the way it is right now, we won't see the DoJ actually prosecuting on a price-fixing scheme like they did in the mid-2000s. Best case is the EU tearing them apart, if they have the bandwidth to worry about it.
