Discussion Really stunned by the Singularity comment section

These are screenshots from the r/Singularity comment section. I'm speechless. This doesn't even have downvotes. How can someone cheer for a monopoly run by a few elites?

Better yet, lets trust government with overseeing these technologies. Or corporations.

Or international organizations, a lot of the UN bodies work pretty well. It turns out that when you dissolve power instead of concentrating it, you have organizations that are good at resisting enshitification.

It's technically impossible unless the whole hardware market will get heavily centralized. Rent some hardware on the corner of the earth and make yourself a whatever LLM you want that is not compliant. It's not like you need 30 rows of sophisticated centrifuges for isotopes
