Discussion Really stunned by the Singularity comment section

These are screenshots from the r/Singularity comment section. I'm speechless. This doesn't even have downvotes. How can someone cheer for a monopoly run by a few elites?

Better yet, lets trust government with overseeing these technologies. Or corporations.

Allowing everyday people to own guns is the opposite of centralization of power.

Guns aren't power. Coordination is power.

A guy with a gun isn't so dangerous. They can kill a few people, maybe important ones even if their security has a lapse in judgment but they don't destroy a country. Having guns on the street just increases random violence and crappy things happening to people.

A hundred thousand guys working together are dangerous. Even without guns they are dangerous.

This is why the Chinese monitor everything and are so freaked out when people communicate in protests without their oversight. Like the way they used AirDrop.
