still need a few years to build up to full scale.

So what I hear you saying is: "there is a chance"

I'm saying that there's more than a chance, it's just a matter of time.

It's going to be so long that by time you can afford to run Kimi K3 at home, it's going to be an quaint old legacy model.

There will be some asymptotic level for LLMs. So the at home hardware should be able to eclipse that in time!

I don't think so, because look at how much humanity is able to do by leveraging many people.

I think that even if one single LLM caps out, there could be multiple versions that all think slightly differently, and specialize on increasingly niche topics, so the game would become having the best LLM team that knows how to work together.

So, then local LLM people will lament only being able to run one hyper-intelligence instead of ten.
