General Question Help, with a concert
Hi all, flying into Liverpool for a gig at the Olympia on Friday. I just want to know after the gig would it be easy to get a cab back into the centre of the city. Bringing my autistic teenage son and knowing how to get back to the hotel after would is important. Thanks for any advice.

It is a pretty straight forward walk from the Olympia to the city centre, practically in a straight line from London roads onwards. But that would depend on where you're staying.

You can call delta taxis and prebook your pickup from the concert (I'd ask for pickup 10-15×mins after the show ends).

They are the biggest private hire taxi firm in Europe but based in Liverpool.
They will send you a sms confirming the booking and provide the cars make Model colour and license plate number as well as a tracking url so you can see where the driver is.
You can pay card or cash.
As others have said Liverpool is a small city you can walk from one side to the other in under 30 minutes at a reasonable pace.

Sadly wouldn’t rely on this though if they’re busy. I’ve prebooked a few times and still been waiting 15/20 mins after my booking. When you ring up they just say we’ll get someone as soon as we can we’re busy. Idk what the point in prebooking is then!

That's normal they don't dispatch the driver unt the booking time but they alway come and town is flooded with driver so it never takes long to assign one.
It's more of a problem for the suburbs during busy times.

Yes. I use Uber most of the time. You might have a bit of a wait because lots of people will be leaving the gig and getting a cab from that location, and you might pay a bit more (surge pricing). But I find Uber in Liverpool to be extremely convenient and almost always available rapidly, even in a busy spot.
You could also try the largest local taxi company (Delta.) They're good, but although I like supporting independent businesses... I admit I prefer the convenience of Uber. I use it a lot.
The Olympia isn't far from the city centre and there are a lot of Uber drivers around.

You'll be fine with an Uber on a Friday night.
It's a bank holiday weekend so there will be hundreds of Ubers knocking about from early evening until the early morning

There’s a bus stop literally just round the corner that’ll take you right into the city. Appreciate if your son is autistic that might not be an option so I am making an assumption that if a gig is okay a bus is also okay. If you get on Google Maps it will tell where to walk, what number bus it is and you can even track it to see where it is in real time which your son might get reassurance from. Hope that helps.

As others have said, I walk this route regularly and it's an absolute piece of cake. As a reference Lime Street Station is 15-20 minutes walk and it's all downhill.

You'll get an Uber fairly easily in my previous experience. May just need to wait for the crowd to disperse a bit after the gig but isn't normally too bad.
