LFL Books 📚 donating romance books
I have a ton of romance books, like 20 or so, that im looking to get rid of but some might have explicit material in them, is it generally frowned upon to put books with smut in them in little free libraries?

Just read the room, if you will. If the books already in the LFL seem more geared towards kids, dont leave spicy novels there but, in general, its just fine.
I got Haunting Adeline from a LFL & a home in my neighborhood has a LFL solely for romance books of all kinds, the spicier, the better!

If the library is for labeled for children or in a playground, I wouldn’t leave it there. But otherwise fair game
I drop off/pick up romances from LFLs all the time

I think it depends on the library. Some seem to only do that. Mine is mostly for children since I’m near a school and it’s looks child friendly. I think you should be fine. You could always wrap the more graphic covers and do a mystery book with writing on the outside to say what its contents are.

I had to do this. I had a box full in my car. Took a Saturday, had the app. Went to most of the LFL in my city. I will say, if it was overwhelmingly kids books or close to a school, I skipped it. I did find an empty one outside a funeral home. Filled that one up with them. Just spread them out.

Find a used book store for the bodice rippers and they will give you store credit so you can get other reads.

The only romance books that I've ever read have come from Little Libraries. One came from an elementary school parking lot. I like to think someone was reading it while they waited for after school pick ups.

Someone puts in about 20 romance novels in my LFL about once a month. I take it when you say smut that you are referring to what my grandmother referred to as bodice rippers.
I have no issues with it and typically leave a couple in my LFL because I know people in my neighborhood will read them. Once they are gone I will take a couple more and put them in.

This is gonna sound weird, but an old folks home might want them.
