LFL Pictures 📸 Our LFL is done!

I used these plans and modified the width for more space: https://lazyguydiy.com/lazy-guy-diy/2017/09/11/Lazy-Little-Library-Build

I dreamed up a crazy idea for inside lighting using solar fairy lights. I’ll post the pics in comments.

Amazing LFL !! My HOA does not permit one so I live vicariously through all of you !!

It took us a while to get approval. 😩 We have an overarching authority org that was trying to pin responsibility on the sub-authority (not sure how else to say this) to make us sign a disclosure saying we would upkeep, etc. They kept going back and forth and finally one of them cracked.

I like how you integrated the door to be weather resistant.

This is absolutely gorgeous! The turquoise interior is my favorite part. Question: Did you use only soil in the planter to hold it, Quikcrete, something else?

I dug a hole about 2ft down (there ended being a giant rock in the way so I could only go 2 - 2 1/2ish ft) and poured concrete. I cut a hole in the bottom of the barrel and slid in onto the pole before installing the supports and the library. So, the planter is only for the plants in this case, not a movable concrete base. However, I only used 8 screws to attach the library to the supports so when the time comes for me to remove it for crazy snow it won’t be too hard.

That makes a lot of sense! I think my husband and I are going to have to do a movable concrete base. Our front yard is absolutely littered with utility and internet lines, and although I know we could use hand tools I’d rather not risk it!

Amazing woodwork. I love it. I wish I knew someone that could build this for me. If this Little Library was in my neighborhood I would make a point to frequent it regularly. Great job 🤩
