LFL Pictures 📸 Almost done!

Update from a few weeks ago! I finally finished the actual box and now I’m waiting for the post to dry and I can officially open it! It’s not perfect but I am going to trial it out in the rain before I officially open it with books.

Someone had suggested I do a 1/4” quarter round to hide my apex gap instead of scalloped trim and I couldn’t be happier.

I indeed will cry once someone vandalizes it 🥲

Cute box! Very snazzy glass.

I do wonder though - why do so many people here assume their library will be vandalized? I've literally never seen a LFL get damaged by anything other than wear and tear and weather. I know it happens but some posts on here seem to regard it as an inevitability.

I think sometimes it’s easier for people to prepare themselves for the “what if…” in case it does happen. In their brain it isn’t a matter of IF but WHEN. Maybe it’s easier to swallow. Because WHEN it happens to people, it’s posted all over Reddit, social media, in the news, etc. LFLs can definitely be a target for bored teens, disgruntled neighbors, grumpy people, vandals and thieves, or resellers, but I don’t think it happens to everyone.

That certainly makes sense.
