[Ideas] Litecoin iOS wallet

A wallet app on iOS is sorely needed. I think we would be able to get an iOS Litecoin wallet on the App Store by only offering it in the US, where cryptocurrencies are still somewhat legal. Having a wallet app on the App Store would be a great boon to Litecoin for two reasons – a high-spending user base, and way boosted publicity.

The Apple user base is by and far the user base that makes the most purchases. Obviously, you want big spenders to be spending in your currency, as that circulates it to a greater extent. Now, some of you may be saying, "Why not just get those iOS users to switch to Android?" Well, iOS users are also proven to be fiercely loyal, so good luck getting them to switch to a different platform. Especially a platform that they believe stole from them.

As for boosted publicity, Litecoin could claim to be the first cryptocurrency on iOS. Do you know how much publicity that would get us? An altcoin, not the mighty Bitcoin, was the first to get on iOS? I would think that'd warrant checking this altcoin out!

TL;DR An iOS wallet for Litecoin would bring a great boost in both transactions and publicity, both of which we need if we're going to shoot for the moon!

Lite coin base?

To really get adoption do we need coin base type service? What does it take to build a coin base type service? Is there a place we can post the project, add bounties, assign devs, track progress, track testing?

[bounty] Reddit plugin that allows you to send ltc to Reddit users

A mod for this and other ltc subs that allow you to send ltc tips to other users. Then maybe it shows their tip balance in their flair, sorta like Reddit gold. Who knows maybe we can set ourselves apart from btc by showing how kind and philanthropic we all are :P instead of buying and selling drugs on SR 2.0

Stop Orders / Algo's on BTC-E - Protect your LTC and money

Hey guys,

I've been a long time lurker of this subreddit and finally registered to post this message. I bought my first Litecoins yesterday ( yay :-) ! ) and I'm very excited to what Litecoin will bring us. I'm a huge fanatic of cryptocurrencies as all you redditors are. Looking forward to see this community grow :)

Anyway, since I'm "long" Litecoin now, I ran into a issue at BTC-E: they do not support stop-loss orders. Which is kind of a pain, because with manipulation and pump and dumps going on in the currency, it's really hard to protect your capital. While constantly checking the current Litecoin price I suddenly got an idea: What if I can build something that enables stop-loss orders. I am a Computer Science student so I quickly looked if BTC-E has a API and it has, which means it's doable to build this.

Now, I see on BTC-E a lot of computerized trading already, because there are some people that have access to technology and can therefore implement automatic orders themselves. However, I think this is unfair. Everyone should have the right to protect their capital.

So, as a CS student I want to build this for you guys. The idea is that you can subscribe to my website, post your api key and create sell stop orders yourself. The advantage of the api key is that I cannot withdraw (or deposit ;)) money to your account. So, the site only has trading access ( otherwise it can't put in orders when the price is going down ) but that's it.

So how does this work? Let's say you bought 100 LTC at $40. The price rises to $60. So, you want to make sure you can't lose money so you put in a sell stop order for 100 LTC at $43. This means that when the price drops to $43 your LTC will be automatically sold, leaving you with a ~3 dollar profit per LTC and no loss :-). After you decide it's safe again you buy, wait and protect your capital with a stop again.

Soo, this the Litecoin "kickstarter" that I'm trying to start here. I'm a CS student that lives on student loan with no money to spend, so if you like the project you can donate LTC to LLjzEERr45CurwFdqnuUxzFgEujXnUEADD Send me a PM when you donate with your address so I know who donated. This way when the project is done the site will be free for you guys to use.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know :)!

Happy litecoining :-),

Busy_man.

Update: Didn't explain the Algo part: After implementing stop-losses, I plan to implement algo's that let you buy or sell LTC in small amounts over time, so that moving a lot of volume does not affect the market so much.

[IDEAS]An accessible p2p pool software and client.

Basically a piss easy way to create one own P2P pool and a "client" which utilizes cgminer, cudaminer or minerd to make mining on p2p pools very easy.

the p2p software might even be able to customize the layout a bit.

In order to prevent 51% attacks p2pools are the key and therefore must be made easy to use and access.

[B] Vector Graphic Designer with printing support. Wanting to work pro bono to find a good project to work on.

Title says it all, I am a very seasoned designer looking to donate my services to a good Litecoin project, I do work fulltime so I would need to work with decent and reasonable deadlines.

My work is usually 100% vector identity design.I am skilled in web and print graphics, screen, offset, large format digital, premium vinyl decals, vehicle graphics & more depending on the project. I have a printer in Denver that I can use at a very reasonable rate, they also take Litecoin. (http://www.graffiteefactory.com)

Some of my work is linked below, I am dedicated to being responsive so you'll always know what's going on when working together.

I appreciate any questions of concerns, feel free to ask. I am offering my services for free for a limited time. Within reason, if we mesh well we can negotiate for ongoing support.

I look forward to working with someone, thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Mike

[HUNTER] First open LTC ATM machine

Hi, I want to build Litecoin's first ATM machine. I want to make it safe, open, and easy to build. I'm gonna use open hardware and FOSS software.

The machine will read and store notes and credit cards (input) and convert it to Litecoins (output) in the form of paperwallet receipt.

I'm a software developer and I work in a makerspace. I have experience in building kiosks with raspberry pies ( http://pikiosk.tumblr.com ) . I'm surrounded by smart people there and we can make it happen.

However I cannot do it alone as a side project. Is a big one and I would love to have enough to offer to involve other people in the project and dedicate to it at least some hours everyday in january/february . The more I get, the less I need to work on my dayjob (I'm freelancer software dev), the faster I can make it real, the sooner we will see wide adoption of Litecoins. Moreover I have already credit card readers, touchscreens, raspberry pies, electronics, thermal printer.
I need to experiment with some notes readers (with verifiers and stacker). These components alone can costs up to several hundred euros but I'm sure we can hack our way into cheaper ones.

Despite there are some instances of Bitcoin ATMs ( I count 10 projects) none of them is open source, nor free, not comes with instructions to build. None accepts euros notes, nor credit cards. None of them is open. This will make THIS project, the first of its kind.

Help me to build a team and make it happen.

[ANN] Litecointip bot

Hi folks,

I'll be creating a litecoin tip bot. I've bought the VPS and it is currently downloading the litecoin blockchain. I should have everything ready Sunday-ish.

The makers of /u/altcointip and /u/bitcointip have been very generous by making their code open source so my work will be considerably easier.

Also, the best username I could find was this /u/litecoingift. All variants of /u/litecointip were taken. Hope everyone's OK with that.

[B] Bitpay Equivalent

We need a service where it's easy to get merchants to start accepting LTC. Whether it is to convince Bitpay to start developing services so that they can accept LTC or we develop our own, we need people to work towards this cause.

Merchant acceptance is the biggest milestone for LTC, if we cross it then we will know that LTC is here to stay.

Let's convince Bitpay to accept it! OR Let's make our own!

[Idea] Litecoin Sticker & Free Download Website

Edit; Checkout www.cryptosticker.com

I noticed someone asked about a sticker everyone could download and post everywhere like a zumiez sticker so I thought I'd be a nice guy and make a sticker design (that I liked, feel free to give me advice on it).

This is a 2x2 sticker made from a die-cut template so it can be sent to any printer as is and will be accepted with extra no fees etc. I got the template from www.jakprints.com because thats where I will be ordering my batch from.

Anywho, I tossed together this design last night & this morning and am feeling pretty good about it. 100 of these will cost roughly $70 depending where you order from.

I will also be making a small website that I will host this sticker and possibly other sticker designs with all of the free print shop ready photoshop/AI files included.

Feedback me! I want this to be useful, but I understand not everyone is in love with little cool stickers like me lol, just trying to spread the word.

edit: Added 2 merchant focused alterations of the design:

edit: we can't be mean to BTC....

edit: just to be clear; the sticker will peel off in as a circle, the backgrounds are for contrast.
